Cube World

Game is actually so fun, gameplay loop is for sure unique but it isn't bad. Was a fan at 15 years old ( i played the alpha ) and I'm still a fan at 28 years old. KEEP GOING !!! take your time !! if it was easy everyone would do it !!! ♥♥♥♥ the haters

I was a fan of this game back in high school during its alpha release. I have mixed feelings about this version. On one hand, it's an original, vibrant world into which the creators poured a lot of love and soul. It's a technically complex software achievement with unique, dynamic gameplay. It has huge potential for growth... which smoothly turns into its main flaw. That huge potential remains just potential. The developer, Wollay, outlined a massive number of plans, but unfortunately fulfilled only about a third of them. As for the virtual gameplay reset in every new region, I'll refrain from commenting—it feels like a forced attempt to inject replayability into the experience. In my opinion, this is the most controversial addition to this version; the alpha was much better in this regard. To sum up: you can say with certainty that this game is unfinished. Yes, community mods partially fill the gaps. Yes, it's a vibrant, cool, and unique game in its own way—but still unfinished. Verdict: a fun game overall, but for niche audiences; there's a high risk of walking away disappointed.

My problem with this game its that its just a prettier slightly tweaked version of the alpha.. adding some things but removing others. i hope that cubeworld omega will be a case of 3rd times the charm and finally hit the nail on the head. --Here are my main critiques mainly with ideas for Omega-- My main point is to please focus most of your energy on the actual goal of the game... The grind/progression!!! new graphics, animated mob/player models, classes, GUI's or NPC chats are low on people priority list, can be added later and are pointless, if what people play the game for feels skipped. Steam Cubeworld progression = clear a region the same way you did the first time over and over for artifacts that give tiny stat boost. No player levels, region lock on gear. Alpha progression = level up player and pets, mobs scale with power level. killing bosses gives platinum coins to upgrade armour and weapons and spirit cubes (which scale with power level too) to upgrade and give weapons with different attributes. <--Great 95% of people prefer the alpha because of the progression. the game had glitches, but for what an alpha is that's expected. This game got quite a bit of heat on release because of differences between the Alpha version and release, but I wasn't around for any of that so I can't vouch. I will say this is a pretty fun game for what it is. I played with some mods to ease the region locking but still kept it for the most part. Would be nice if the dev didn't get witch hunted out and had the chance to keep making updates, but I'm excited to see what Omega will bring.

Good game as is. Great game with mods. It’s fun to play as is but mods fix and complete the game.
