5omeday... I actually bought this game when it first came out, but I only got around to writing a review now XD For the price and the length of the game... yeah, I don't think it's really worth it. I hope the developer will consider the gameplay length and the features the game offers more carefully when setting the price for their future games :'v That said, I really liked the concept and the storyline. And in order to get all the achievements, I had to become a cold-blooded killer T_T

This game just has no substance. There is very little worldbuilding, almost no characterization (which is a problem considering the whole game is about a moral dilemma between the characters), and damn near nothing happens the entire game. You just chat with her about random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, most of which is completely unrelated to her being locked up. Even then, the dialogue is so disconnected, it sometimes just feels like the characters are talking past each other. The only part of the game that even tries to set a tone is the music, because scenes just abruptly begin and continue without any description of what is physically happening or the character reactions or feelings about the conversation, and it just progresses way too fast for any moment to feel like it matters. If you try to find all the endings, you'll probably end up skipping most of the dialogue since very little of it changes until you get to the end. To top it all off, the entire premise of the game is stupid, since the game makes it very obvious what the correct moral choice is, and many of the endings require to be straight up evil for absolutely no reason. If you try to save her, almost all of he implications of this…

Slay the Princess with a much more reasonable amount of endings, and a prisoner that is 100% innocent. I do think it needs to be a bit longer so the player can bond with Marigold further, giving the intended true route more weight. Regardless, all of the bad endings still serve sufficient deterrents in their heart-wrenchingly sadistic cruelty (assuming you're not devoid of basic empathy; I realize I'm giving humanity too much credit there), much as I prefer the revenge spin and potential for future narrative on Dawn's Falling Star over the happier alternatives.

Its alright, but the story/characters arnt fleshed out enough so it feels like the game doesnt punish/reward the player enough for there to be any significant emotional attatchment. Ultimately the feelings the game tries to evoke are pretty superficial. OST is good, CGs are alright. For the price they are asking its a hard ehhhhh, maybe if you have 10 dollars with nothing else to spend it on and an hour or two free it would be worth it. 5/10
