About Alvara

STORY

Immerse yourself in Alvara, a forgotten land at the heart of the Vat, the infinite universe. This RPG with mechanics inspired by the classics of the genre offers an innovative narrative experience and an immersive system of choices. Every decision you make will shape Alvara's destiny and influence her story.

Forge your own adventure in this rich, captivating world, where every choice has real, tangible consequences. Explore varied environments, meet fascinating characters and make crucial decisions that will determine Alvara's fate.

You are Zoltae, an orphaned warrior from Bazzya. Your tormented past and uncertain future plunge you into an epic quest where every choice will determine the fate of Alvara, the lost land. Will you save Alvara from the darkness that threatens it, or doom its inhabitants to a bleak future?

Discover how your past and future are intimately linked to the history of Alvara, and influence the world in which you live.

Choose

Make your own choices, where each decision will have irreversible consequences for Alvara and its inhabitants. Write a unique story where your quest for truth and justice may well lead to the destruction of everything you love.

Recruit

Meet colorful characters with unique motivations and personalities. Convince them to join you and form a formidable team to face the dangers of Alvara. Take advantage of their skills and strength to overcome the obstacles that stand in your way.

Fight

Master tactical turn-based combat where strategy is your ultimate weapon. The unique Synergy system lets you unleash devastating attacks if your allies trust you, but will leave you exhausted afterwards.
Make crucial choices: will you fight alongside the most powerful warriors who despise you, or will you prefer the cunning thief who faithfully follows you? Each ally has its strengths and weaknesses, so exploit them wisely to triumph.

Exploration

Explore the vast expanses of Alvara, especially the continent of Occilargia. Wander through richly varied landscapes and discover ancient ruins that hold the secrets of the past. Understand the history of the world and your place in it. But will you be ready to accept the truth, even if it challenges everything you believe?

When I accept games via the curator, I don't normally write bad reviews, especially if the price is very low, but here they are asking for 10 euros. That's pretty exorbitant, so I'll write a few words about why I think so. Apart from the fact that this game lags like hell and that's not because of the frame rates, it's also badly translated with Google. There are people who like to buy games from small developers and overlook a few bugs, but you shouldn't pay a cent here. You'd be better off buying an old game that's on sale.

Alvara is a fairly straightforward Unreal Engine asset flip, although it should be noted a little effort went into trying to make a game, and "trying" is the operative word there. But it doesn't pass the basic test for what makes a game anything more than an asset flip. Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took a bunch of Unreal Marketplace/Fab fantasy/RPG assets and rearranged them haphazardly into a kind of third person RPG... thing... and translated everything with Google Translate. Which should be ashamed of itself, because reading this is rough. It's thoroughly unpleasant to play and it's deep in development hell. The developer hasn't updated this in months and there's no coherent plan in sight for this to be completed.…

First 20 Minutes Gameplay Here I've been waiting for a game like this for some time now... A game that leaves me still unsure of what to write about! This game has so much wasted potential, at least in my opinion. The story isn’t bad—for a classic RPG—but sadly, there are a few things that are a bit jarring. Please note, these are purely my personal opinions, and some of these aspects may or may not be manageable in the game itself. After playing for a few minutes: - Regarding the movement keys (and I’m not sure if this is the same in France), they start with an AZERTY layout, so you’ll need to change them. - For me, this game feels like it’s trying a bit too hard. Sometimes, simpler is better. I understand the devs wanting to showcase the best of their abilities, but occasionally, it feels overdone. - One of the biggest annoyances is the simpleton who’s supposed to teach you the game. It's not his method that bothers me but rather the animation that plays when he's explaining things. It’s not a natural movement; he seems to be... dancing? It makes it distracting when I’m trying to read important instructions that help…
