The atmosphere is overly simple and cozy, clearly designed with a younger audience in mind. While it might get repetitive and boring quickly for teens or older players, it is a perfect fit for children looking for a brightly colored and relaxing experience. [h2]The Cafe Loop & Recipes[/h2] The core gameplay loop revolves around serving dishes, earning likes and followers on social media, and learning new recipes along the way. The baking mechanics are very straightforward. It is mostly point-and-click with a few quick-time events thrown in, leaving little room for creativity beyond adding some toppings. Progression unlocks quite a number of recipe items. I have seen negative reviews pointing out that the menu items are just different variations of the same treat, but I really do not see that as a bad thing for a kid. Gamer girlies, RISE UP! (and gamer guys, but i dunno, you got baldurs gate or whatever...) I was really confused by the negative reviews, so going into this game I was nervous. I am even more confused now, because this game is so freaking cute and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Yes, its not as "difficult" as other cooking games *cough cough, the mother whom cooks cough cough*. Sometimes you don't want that? It doesn't make this a bad cooking game. First of all, yes, the way you make the foods is overall pretty simple. BESIDES MAKING SANDWICHES. WHY DO MY GRAPES ALWAYS ROLL OFF MY SANDWICH? You take on the role of Emma (whose name and appearance can be customized), the newest employee of a stylish cafe. Basically, your job is to cook delicious meals or desserts for your customers and upload the pics to social media in order to get likes and followers. Bring fame to the cafe and become a success story along the way. ^^ For the gameplay, you go through the process of creating your character. Then you're given one meal to cook, which is the traditional pancake. Depending on whether you use your keyboard and mouse or controller, you follow the prompts for making the parts of the meal. Depending on how accurately you follow the instructions, you can earn up to 3 stars for that part of the cooking. In other words, 3 stars equals a perfect rating. After you finish the meal and upload the pic to social media, you'll get lots of likes and followers. The better you cook the meal, the more likes and followers you'll get. Yes, it’s repetitive and structured, but you’re putting your own cute spin on each dish with different ingredients and styles, and for that, I love this game and I think it’s fun. The controls are super simple and easy to follow no complicated button combos. If you’re looking for a cooking game with high stakes and demanding gameplay, this probably isn’t for you. But if you’re craving something simple and repetitive, this is totally your jam. If you’re a girly girl who loved those nostalgic GirlsGoGames dot com Flash games and three DS cooking games, Debut Project Cooking Cafe is pure magic.
