▼Game Flow
First you need to set up your furnishings and other appointments. Select an area of the restaurant framed in orange to place tables and increase your clientele.
As you get more customers, your staff members will get busier, so you'll want to hire new employees. You can do this starting in the fifth month of your first year.
You will also want to develop new dishes. You can charge more for popular dishes, making it easier to make ends meet, so try to cultivate a menu that will attract customers.
As sales increase, your restaurant can rise in the regional rankings. Open new locations and expand them, and aim for the #1 ranking in all regions!

Players praise Cafeteria Nipponica's addictive, cozy management gameplay and appreciate its simpler, more accessible design compared to newer Kairosoft titles, with fans of the older "Button Era" games finding it charming and replayable. Common complaints center on the lack of a fast-forward feature, the game being deceptively easy to mismanage and go bankrupt without proper strategy knowledge, and concerns that the formula is repetitive and similar to other Kairosoft games, potentially lacking long-term appeal for completionists.

I played this over a dozen years ago and I’m so happy it’s finally released on Steam! This is my favorite Kairosoft game, and I think the older Kairosoft titles have a unique charm. The "Button Era," where mobile games had navigation buttons, was perfect to me; they didn't have too many things to manage, they were simple and cozy. Compared to new games that require you to pay attention to so many things, this game offers simplicity, even if it means the playtime might be shorter. But for me, no matter how many times I Start a New Game, it’s always fun!1 found this helpful

It’s a familiar formula for anyone who has played a Kairosoft title before, yet Cafeteria Nipponica refines it with a more grounded focus on the business of cooking, balancing creativity and management in a satisfying loop that’s as cozy as it is addictive. The first thing that stands out about Cafeteria Nipponica is its unmistakable aesthetic. The pixel-art style, bright color palette, and animated customers give the game an immediate sense of warmth and nostalgia. Every element, from the sizzling stoves to the smiling patrons, contributes to an atmosphere that feels inviting and cheerful. The visual simplicity conceals a surprising amount o…1 found this helpful
