I've tried a lot of deckbuilding roguelikes trying to scratch the StS itch and most don't keep my attention. This very much does and has the sauce. While it's not as good as StS, I suddenly lost hours after starting my first run because I was immediately hooked. The story and setting are unique and weird. And the gameplay is simple but strategic. You very quickly learn how to build high damage dopamine releasing combos. I really only have a few negatives. The first is that there is a meta, getting the highest damage output in the least amount of turns. There lacks enough variety in your options and modifiers to really do anything else. As well as there isn't really much variety in how the enemies fight. It essentially does come down to numbers. And I loved what we get for the story, setting, and cutscenes but I wish there was more. Overall I highly suggest it and hope it does well enough to warrant a bigger sequel.

The game improved a lot. Thanks to the tooltips easily available during fights, all questions have been answered, all keywords have been explained. Really cool game! The syringe is bugged in Endless mode at least, haven't tried it before that. Endless mode is just that, endless... A bit disappointed, expected a final story ending cutscene. It just ate up a lot of my time, doing the same combo over and over, since when you get to billions of life the only counter is the Shield Spike, since it is percentage based. Also the fact that there are no trophy rewards between Bosses makes the whole mode pointless. Even more pointless, than it could have been. You won't see anything there you would have been able in the normal mode. Also the special cards you unlock, are very meh, and on top of that very rare to find one. Most of them are pointless even if you would find them in the first half of your run. Good game, but half baked.

worth the price, if you like Slay the spire or Balatro like games, this is a good one

The game is quite hard to figure out at first, but once you read and understand the mechanics, it's pretty easy to master.
