About Dark Mine

✦ AI summary

Dark Mine is a first-person survival horror game where you navigate a collapsed mine armed only with a night vision camera, hunted by an unseen creature in pitch-black tunnels. Its claustrophobic PSX-style atmosphere and relentless tension create a retro nightmare where every sound and shadow could be your last.

Your first night on the job should have been uneventful, just another shift deep in the tunnels of an isolated gold mine. But when disaster strikes and the mine collapses, your reality changes instantly. The crew is gone. Something is down here with you. And the only thing standing between you and the dark is the green glow of your night vision lens.Dark Mine is a first-person survival horror game set in a pitch-black labyrinth of rock, debris, and unseen terror. Using only a handheld night vision camera, you must navigate narrow tunnels, avoid the creature that stalks the dark, and find your way to the surface.

A Retro Nightmare

Inspired by the lo-fi tension of classic horror, Dark Mine blends PSX-style visuals with a claustrophobic setting and relentless atmosphere. The mine may be abandoned, but it is far from empty. Every flicker of movement and every distant sound may be the last thing you hear.

See in the Dark—Or Don’t

The camera is your only guide. Use it to uncover hidden paths, spot movement in the shadows, and avoid the monster hunting you. But be warned: light can help you, but it can also reveal dark truths.

Escape or Die Below

You are alone. There is no rescue. The only way out is forward, through crumbling passageways and past whatever now calls this mine home. Keep moving, stay quiet, and don’t lose your grip on reality. The mine took your crew. Don’t let it take you.

✦ AI summary

Dark Mine is a short indie horror experience that effectively creates atmosphere through claustrophobic mine settings and limited visibility mechanics, earning praise for its tension and helplessness-inducing gameplay. However, players note the game is quite brief and could have expanded its core concept with more levels, while some report technical issues including crashes. Most reviewers who completed it feel it delivers a solid quick horror experience worth the price, though it's best approached as a short, focused title rather than a substantial adventure.

The game is quite short but has a very interesting idea and setting. What caught my attention the most was the feeling of being lost in the middle of a cave. I think this is great for moving forward with the game. There could have been many more levels exploring this feeling of being lost in the catastrophobic labyrinth that are the mines. I was scared several times by the jumpscares, and at one point it was perhaps even more than I expected, hahaha. The monster could have been scarier too. Apart from that, the game is worth it. Give it a chance.

Dark Mine is an independent horror title developed by Cyber752 and published by indie.io that builds its identity around a familiar but effective concept: being trapped underground with nowhere to run and no one left to help. The game begins with a routine mining expedition that spirals into disaster after a cave-in leaves the protagonist stranded in a remote gold mine. What follows is a tense journey through narrow passages and abandoned excavation sites as players attempt to uncover a way out while avoiding a terrifying presence that has claimed the darkness as its home. The game immediately establishes a feeling of helplessness through its limited visibility and minimalist mechanics. Armed primarily with a night vision camera, players are forced to navigate environments where every corner feels threatening. The decision to rely on a camera rather than traditional light sources adds a unique layer of immersion, as the green-tinted visuals make the mine feel unnatural and disorienting. Darkness is not merely part of the setting; it is one of the game's most effective tools, constantly pressuring players to move forward despite never feeling entirely safe. Cyber752 leans heavily …

Dark Mine is a short, creepy little horror game set in a dark underground mine. The atmosphere is the main highlight — tight spaces, heavy darkness, and that constant feeling that something is stalking you. You mostly rely on your night vision camera to survive, which makes everything feel tense since you’re basically defenseless the whole time. It’s not a long or complex game, but for the price, it’s a solid quick horror experience. Perfect if you just want something short and spooky.
