Future War Tactics: SOF vs Alien Invasion – Turn-Based Strategy

Has some competent elements, but probably not worth your time. + graphics are good enough + map design appears okay + clean UI + gameplay basics work fine - Some UI elements not translated to English - Dialogue is laughable and translated horribly - Uninteresting enemies (in couple first missions, at least) - Generic characters, no customization - Reload action takes too much AP, nonsensical choice - No saving mid-mission... a deal breaker, honestly. Not so much for save-scumming, but as a basic QoL feature.

The game is probably still in the ALFA version, it's very much unfinished, and there are a ton of bugs. I definitely do not recommend it.

When you launch the game it's all in russian so you may have a problem to find the setting and change the language if you don't know cyryllic. Game itself is extremely basic.

...it has so much potential to tell a Russian narrative of X-COM events, very similar to the aforementioned game, but lacking polish in many aspects. Unfortunately, turn-based and military games are few and far between. It disappoints a bit in terms of AI, but with a discount on Steam it's a game that's somewhat fun, although it's far from having the refinement of games like X-COM or Phoenix Point. I found this game to be a decent game that has much future potential to itself. Especially If you also do not mind the somewhat quirky AI generated voice actors and their dialogues, etc. It felt a little rough around the edges with the game controls feeling a bit clunky, and a little glitchy in some aspects of it for the gameplay itself. Yet The balance of the game is modest in most regards as well. Overall. It was a fun experience similar to more known game titles for its turn based strategy style of gameplay.
