About FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves

✦ AI summary

FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves is a fighting game that brings back SNK's legendary franchise with an innovative REV System that lets you pull off devastating offensive combos and special moves with dual control schemes for both newcomers and veterans. Master intense one-on-one battles in arcade-style combat or dive into the solo RPG mode Episodes of South Town to level up your fighter and chase glory through the gritty streets.

SNK’s beloved Fatal Fury series first hit the market in 1991, spearheading the fighting game boom of the 1990s that swept the industry thereafter. GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES (released in 1999) has, for some time, served as the franchise’s most recent installment. But that is all about to change: 26 years on, a brand-new entry—FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves—is set to arrive on the scene!■All-new REV System supercharges the excitement!Introducing the REV System, a brand-new toolset that offers unique offensive options from the moment the battle begins! Use REV Arts, REV Accel, REV Blows (while S.P.G. is active), and more until you hit your limit and the REV Meter overheats. The all-new REV System—fight at full throttle and supercharge the excitement!
■Two control schemes—fun for newcomers and veterans alike!
Choose from two control schemes: Arcade Style is based on precise, technical inputs, while Smart Style lets you perform flashy special moves and combos using directional inputs and single button presses. From fighting game newcomers to seasoned veterans, there’s plenty of fun and excitement to be had—tailored specifically to your level!
■Strive for supremacy in EPISODES OF SOUTH TOWN, a single-player RPG mode!
Introducing “Episodes of South Town” (EOST)—a solo RPG adventure where you’ll square up against contenders under various fight conditions, earning XP and other rewards for your efforts. Level up your fighter, build out a diverse kit of skills, and dominate the opposition on your way to the top. Dreams and ambitions run rampant in South Town; now is the time to chase the city’s crown and carve a legend all of your own!* To play EOST you’ll first need to connect to the Internet and update the game.

i did it! i duckin did it, i beat terry bogard! no but seriously this game is beyond phenomenal and the combat system is one of the greatest master strokes of tight resource driven fights there is; learning the best parts of all the previous fatal fury games (as well as a little bit of flavors from other snk titles) brings a super focused stacking of mechanics that exquisitely intense in practice. the back and forth feeling and super distinct chaining for each character makes this game feel endlessly replayable. routing is really diverse, between the readdition of ring outs as well as multi lane stages, the options for combo expression is remarkable. i didnt even bring up the characters (esp the new girlie preecha, p-chan, and duck king), or the rev arts/blows, there is so much to talk about in cotw that i promise you that you wont find another modern fighting game on the market like it come for the story and the game — the rpg mode is great too (: returning to south town has never been so smooth

I want to like it, but i don't. I come from Mark of the wolves, from NeoGeo. I play it a lot. This game, has none of the heart or soul of that game. I got into a fight, the game stutters every 20 or so seconds, briefly. It really hinders the game. I had a look at the settings and couldn't work out why but tbh i don't really care, because the few hits i have done in game, does not have the same punch or feedback with the sounds of Mark of the Wolves, it just felt flat. So yea, not for me, rather play Garou MoW.
