Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord

So far this game is frickin awesome! The tweaks really improve the game. It's important to note that it's based off the old game and if you're not familiar with old school names from the 80s and 90s then you may want to skip it but for us old timers this is gold.

So, this game is evil incarnate. An RPG of the oldest school, before a lot of modern design philosophies were invented, and before morality or common sense came along. A game with intense grinds, complex maps, confusing layouts, insane challenge and more ways to die on the first few floors of a dungeon than some games entire first halves. Losing whole parties of created characters is expected. Losing them several times is also expected. Even with a guide, you will die a lot. Less than ten percent of players have beaten this game, and with good reason. Is the game good? Well, its got issues. The interface doesn't seem to scale well, interacting with your inventory and characters is messy, fights are way too slow even with the added option to speed them up, and it is as mentioned all kinds of unbalanced. However, the fact that this game is difficult to deal with is part of its sell: Beating it means that yes, you have beaten one of the harder RPGs in the world. And it has neat music, interesting art, and lots of little silly features. Do I recommend it? I suppose I do, but only to people who know what they are getting into: This game is hard. Don't waste you money. This game is hot garbage!

Slow, rigid, repetitive, terrible UI and controls. The "exploration" is extremely poor. This whole thing wouldnt do well in an average gamejam if you disregard the nostalgia factor, and you are paying price of a full proper game for it.
