Best Wizardry version by far. I loved Wizardry 1 as a young adult and i love the new remake. However the complexity and gameplay of Wizardry 8 is facinating1 found this helpful
Dunno why i never played this. Its pretty neat
I shall glaze this game to death, this has almost everything I could wish in a game, an excellent, well-crafted story, an in-depth character creation, where every chosen race and class impacts on your experience, a high level of interactivity and reactivity with the world and a juicy tactical turn-based combat system. Even tho it is a very challenging game, it is still very chill to play, i mean, don't get me wrong, there will be times where you'll want to enter the screen to punch the enemies yourself, but its incredibly cozy.
No nostalgia for this game, and still the best game I've played this year. I'm playing on steam deck unmodded things seem to work as intended other than the intro and a couple minor assets.
Very fun blobber, possibly the best of all time. Definitely top 3. The game is very cheap on sale. Deep character customization. Good replay value. If you like a game that doesn't hold your hand and forces you to learn or research that is another quality. Can't praise Wizardy 8 enough.
i cannot fathom why i heard so much good things about this game. 1) i hate the world. i hate this weird space combination with medieval fantasy, it sucks, i only want to play games where i'd actually want to live in that world, i do not want to live in wizardry 8. what a horrible world to live in. none of it makes any sense, either. 2) you dont get to play who you want. the game is so abjectly difficult that unless you build your party to the absolute meta, you will get nowhere, die constantly, and be unable to actually play the game. the game, btw, is just run 5 feet, run into monster, war of attrition until your party dies, resort to running away, still get killed. i love running around aimlessly and being punished for trying to have fun. top that off with a incomprehensible world and no thanks. I made a party of: Human Fighter, Human Rogue, Elf Wizard, Elf Ranger, Lizardfolk Cleric, Lizardfolk Fighter. so... and again, about the world. thats why i dont like wizardry 8. its not like middle earth or other places i've seen. it doesn't feel genuine. it feels weird and all over the place. its like a 12 year old said "and then there was SPACE SHIPS and LASER GUNS and AK47S and …
