A game that was there for me back then and still is

I really wanted to recommend Duet because I dig its elegant simplicity and challenging but fun game play, and if you don't care about achievements, I guess I do recommend it still. However, I cannot condone holding players hostage for "do this 1000 times" quote on quote achievements. There is nothing fun about forcing players to play 1000 waves of endless mode just to 100% the game, while omitting skill-based achievements for beating levels with the minimum number of moves. I also found the background effects distracting, and in fact sickening (causing motion sickness), but luckily there is a way to turn them off and I think the game looks much more elegant without them. What you can't control is the volume, and it is a shame because I had to turn off the music entirely to avoid it blasting my ear drums. Another weird omission is a way to quickly restart the chapter without jumping through menu hoops. Especially considering the no-hit challenge achievements that all but require multiple attempts. It would have also been nice to mark the chapters that have been completed without getting hit somehow so that the player doesn't need to consult achievements to see which chapters still …

7/10 - A fun little skill game where you keep trying over and over again to the sound of catchy music until you beat the level.
