About Star Fire: Eternal Cycle
Star Fire: Eternal Cycle is a fast-paced roguelite action game where you dodge, dash, and combo your way through randomized stages with precision side-scrolling combat. Eight elemental types, branching skill trees, and secret surprises ensure every run feels fresh while you unlock permanent upgrades that keep things escalating.
Star Fire is a love letter to classic arcade side-scrollers, reimagined with roguelite progression, modern action polish, and that “just one more run” itch. It’s fast, punchy, and all about no-pressure fun with tight combat, slick movement, and endless ways to cause chaos.

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Star Fire: Eternal Cycle is a fast-paced action rogue-lite inspired by classic arcade beat-em-ups, featuring vibrant visuals, flashy combat, and synergy-rich build crafting that rewards breaking the game with extremely powerful combinations. Players praise the smooth gameplay, satisfying damage scaling, permanent progression systems, and art style, though some find the learning curve steep initially and note that visibility issues and one-shot mechanics can frustrate.
Hmm... ok, I get this game now
I wrote a long, mostly negative review filled with lengthy descriptions of cons because I didn't get this game. I didn't understand what it wanted. At the 13-ish hour mark, I began to slowly realize what this game was trying to get you to do. It wants you to break it. But you won't get far in this game if you simply make an OP build. No, a regular "that's kinda OP" build will not get the job done here. You need to be able just DELETE bosses in seconds, or your build is gonna get hard-walled by something further ahead. Take the Flood-flare/Deadly Strike/Mirage Shot on Beowulf from Hades, or the ever-magical Merciful End build... yeah, those are soft compared to the level of DELETE you need in this game. You need the kind of build where you do one dash into a crowd and it implodes the whole room. Anyhoo, let's go over pros/cons! PROS: - Runs very smoothly. No stutters, no framedrops. It's a solid build. - It's fun enough. Keeps you playing and engaged. - It's got that "one more run" energy to it, which is a nice bonus. - The levels/biomes are varied enough; they each feel like a different place. - Enemies/bosses are ok…11 found this helpful
Similar to rogue beat them up arcade games of the 80's and 90's such as Double Dragon, Final Fight, Captain Commando etc. with a little more depth. I.e. unlocking gears and buffs for the next run etc.1 found this helpful
Great surprise, the game is really fun, I mostly played on my deck so far but it runs buttery smooth, unlike BB Entropy Effect. Plenty builds to try (and I'm still early in the game), there is a permanent sense of progression due to how we unlock stuff in the game, beyond permanent upgrades, such as armour set and skins. It feels old school and that's nice. It's a CN game so obviously there are barefoot waifus, and this time they aren't locked to the NPC/boss jail, it's our actual character/skin, no bait and switch like they usually do: aka barefoot on the splash art but somehow has high heels in game, They delivered what they advertised, and that's awesome (looking at you Wuchang, Realm of Ink and many others). It's a shame that they didn't add barefoot footsteps to match the couple of barefoot outfits, but afaik, these skins were added post launch and it's an indie game, no fals advertising unlike the previous games I mentioned, so I'm not gonna b*tch about it. Plus we also have a transmog system. No paid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ transmog as soon as the armour system is unlocked. This game is a rare breed, good visuals, fun and challenging gameplay, no modern audience bs and waifu MC. There…1 found this helpful
♥♥♥♥ steam for deleting my text when changing the review to negative. can't see ♥♥♥♥ in this game plus enemies just one shot you so you can't see anything and just die. don't be a smartass and talk about the relic that limits how much damage you can take per hit, it's still ♥♥♥♥.1 found this helpful
= Decent game, pretty vibrant and fun fast-paced action rogue-lite. I would recommend trying out. ++ Unique schools of damage which can be combined and create synergies. ++ Flashy combat, weapons and costumes. + Fitting artstyle and music. + Some challenging achievements. +- No story, you are immediately thrown into battle. +- Sexual content tag is very exaggerated claim. +- Co-op would be nice. - Relatively lackluster long-term progression systems. - Besides main game mode, there is just endless ome and daily challenge.
Get it on sale. It was fun but I lost interest pretty quickly.
