The world has been lost to a deadly virus, transforming the citizens into flesh eating mutants. In 28 Days the military plans to nuke everything above ground in a last ditch effort to gain control. Unfortunately for you, the nearest bunker is very far away.

A shining example of how sound effects and framing can elevate a game. It's really satisfying to shoot the enemies in this. Addictive little gem.
It's not out to break the mould, but this is a turn-based roguelike with incredibly solid design. A run of 1 Bit Survivor puts you and your very low munitions supply through 28 dark and ominous days, throwing you into a new biome whenever you make it through another week. Each biome can spawn different sets of enemies, and the longer you survive, the more of those enemies will be lying in wait for you. If you've found a wrench by the end of a given week, you'll get to pick one of two random upgrades. These will boost a skill you already have, or in some cases grant you a new talent. There may only be a small handful of upgrades, but there's real impact behind each choice, and this changes even more when playing off the different strengths of the 3 playable classes. A run with a certain class might have you front-loading close-ranged firepower, while another might have you softening enemies from afar in order so that you can easily finish them off if they come too close for comfort. Being a roguelike, you can of course get a feel-bad run at the roll of a die, but most of the losses in 1 Bit survivor still feel pretty fair. You can grumble about the RNG, but chances are, you d…
Somebody on the internet recommended it to me, saying it was supposed to be a hidden gem. Since it met all my criteria for a game to truly qualify as a hidden gem, I decided to purchase it and give it a try. The result? Easily one of the best games I’ve played in recent months. It’s exciting to play, doesn’t cost much, and constantly makes you think about how fun it is while you’re playing. I want to play it more. I want to unlock all the achievements. I love this style and the way the overall atmosphere creates a perfect (at least to me) survival horror roguelike experience. Honestly, thank you, Chaz Acheronti, for creating this game. I hope more people will discover it and have fun with this fine game.

TITLE: 1 BIT SURVIOR CONCULSION: A decent product. Loved it. BUY OR NO BUY: BUY. ART STYLE: Unique and fits gameplay mechanism well. UI & ACCESSIBILITY: OK. CONTROL SCHEME: I'd wish for a more complete keyboard control scheme so I can play the game with keyboard only (I feel this game would be much immersive without mouse clicks). Or is this already supported? I might later write an autohotkey script to get that work. GRAPHICAL TECH-DETAILS (PERFORMANCE/OPTIMIZATION): OK. STORY: I Love Leo. GAMEPLAY MECHANISM: Complexity is just right, randomized levels could be challenging. PROGRESSING: 28 days is ... a little too long??? DIFFICULTY & LEARNING CURVE: Reading the community guide is ADVISED. MODDING FRIENDLY: ? IN-GAME CHEAT CONSOLE: NO REPLAYABILITY: Good SOUND DESIGN: OK. VOICE-OVER: NO MUSIC: OK.
Fun puzzle game with engaging art.
