THE STORY
After the events that took place in "1976: Back to Midway", we find ourselves trapped in the year 2021 along with Dr. Ivanovich inside the Quantum Simulator. When it seems that we’re condemned to spend the rest of our days there, Dr. Novichiva -an alternative version of Dr. Ivanovich- shows up through a space-time breach, holding us responsible for the greatest threat the multiverse has ever faced.
Our constant back and forth through space-time has altered the infinite parallel realities, whose very existence we ignored. As a consequence, in a high percentage of these multiverses, Hitler not only won World War II, but has ended up expanding his power to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. The allied resistance in universe C-139, commanded by dr. Novichiva, has managed to eliminate thousands of versions of Hitler in their respective multiverses, but some of them are still on the warpath.

Fantastic game.
2076 is a sequel of 1976, that transitions from top-down PoV to side-scrolling and fixes most of the issues that original had. It is much more varied with unique bosses and different environments, better balanced difficulty and level unlocks, first person missions are now actually optional and suck much less (but still kinda suck though) and performance is much better. And it is still fun to play for its rather short duration. VR aspect of the game is much more utilized with side-scrolling perspective, that allows to see far to the right and prepare to the upcoming enemies and traps. On the minus side: the campaign ends rather abruptly, there are some minor bugs and slight lack of polish, that Ivanovich Games VR experiences tend to have. Works on Reverb G2 with native OpenXR
Surprisingly good. The 3D models look pretty good. The game plays like a side scrolling bullet hell style shoot em up, but being in VR allows for some unique perspectives from which to pilot your ship. Everytime you face a boss at the end of a level your ship perspective changes, which makes for quite a fun event as you scramble to understand the new perspective. I feel like this game is overlooked because it is enjoyable to play. The story is annoying trash though, just skip through it.
Awesome game
This is a preliminary review after playing through the demo and now the full game for about a half hour. I was really hoping that the immersion levels would be longer in the full game. They are not. I haven't timed it, but they can't be longer than a minute if that. You get MAYBE enough time to just start to get used to the controls to steer the ship without crashing into every wall and then the level is over. I really like what this dev is trying to do bringing old arcade games to life in VR, but I really wish they fleshed out the immersion levels to full length experiences. The basic gameplay is not bad. It is like playing a classic shmup from a spectator's view on the inside of the glass of an arcade cabinet. I wish I could give this a thumbs sideways. Play the demo first before deciding if this is a game you want to purchase.
