A Tithe in Blood

When your life is a dark, cold void any warmth can bring comfort. Even if drawing out that fleeting warmth brings with it more harm and pain. With true comfort only coming from the warmth others can bring your life. This was an excellent read. Dark and confronting without relying on typical shock value. Handling its characters and their struggles, as well as some very grim and confronting themes, with a deft hand and a lot of empathy. Probably Studio Elan's most bold work i've read so far. A story who's writing could have absolutely fumbled very delicate themes if not guided with the skill and warmth shown here. Fantastic work. "A smile suits you well..."

game is good :) the yuri stuff was nice and cute but depressing honestly i stuck around for the story more than the romance stuff i found myself relating to honoka and her struggles a lot :< overall great game i was very unsettled by the self harm and suicidal thoughts so good job with that :) ps the ending is a happy one so if you feared a tragic ending you won't find it here (˶ᵔᗜᵔ˶)ﾉﾞ

Wow. Okay, going to avoid spoilers. First, let's get some mechanical details out of the way. This is a novel in which you do not make choices. You are here to experience a story with a single ending, and holy **** what a story. It is hard for me to be objective, having just finished and enjoyed it so very much. Usually I'd wait a day or two to mull things over, but I wanted to get this out there immediately. This is a well-written fantasy with a lot of ups and downs. It left me in tears many times, and had me boiling over in fury just as often. The characters acted in a consistent fashion, their motives were understandable, and by the end of the experience, I found their choices were aligned with their motives. There are some very intense events that come up in this story. As the description so clearly warns, this is not a light-hearted tale. I will refrain from repeating it all, but suffice it to say these warnings are valid. There are people for whom this would be a very negative, triggering experience (self-harm, blood, violence, suicidal ideation). Unfortunately, if those are triggers for you, this is not a good novel to read. The romance at the heart of this tale resonat…

what a good ass game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, there's so much here that I find really engaging, the way the protagonists depression is portrayed, all the great character interactions sprinkled throughout, the way the story shifts in a way I didn't expect coming in, there's just a lot to love about it. Its by no means the craziest or most complex narrative out there but what is there is really good and made me feel a lot of emotion, its overall just a really sweet and endearing artwork that you should definitely check out if you're a fan of the genre and are ok with some of the darker subject matter it tackles. the game, at least in my view also feels distinctly like an early-mid 2010's anime in a lot of ways that I can't quite place which may be part of why I connected to it so quickly and could also just be a jejune observation / complete fabrication on my part :p also although I didn't make use of those settings myself I think its really good that the devs added ways to disable visual and audio depictions of self harm for the sake of people who need that.

Another quality title from Studio Elan. The premise is intriguing, I enjoy the characters, the CGs are beautiful and there were plenty of moments that put me on edge. I will say the story has some hiccups especially with how rushed it felt near the end. It wasn't enough to impact my enjoyment, but it isn't on the level as Highway Blossoms or Heart of the Woods for me. Still, I had a great time with this game and I would love to visit this world again if I ever get an opportunity.

This game is beautifully written, especially with the heavy topics it includes. I also really appreciate the settings to disable visual and auditory depictions of self-harm. Overall an amazing game and I love all the characters introduced so far!
