About A toad well travelled
"A toad well travelled" is a short, but challenging, side-scrolling platformer about a young toad that sets off to explore the world outside the safety of his pond.
Along the way, you as the player, will guide the inquisitive toad through diverse, dangerous environments filled with not-so-friendly creatures.
Features:
* A story book which gives the player a chapter by chapter description of the toad's journey but more importantly, also gives a brief insight into the challenges that lay ahead.
* Stylized, realistic-looking environments and creatures.
* Three difficulty levels ranging from "egg" for the younger players, "tadpole" and full-grown "toad" for those wanting a bit more of a challenge.
* Experience the unique, ambient sounds of the Australian bush at night, featuring kookaburras and lyrebirds.

Very challenging, loved the ambiance in the last level (that's not to say the rest of the background audio is bad in other parts, just that the last level had the best). Deceptive, no saves barring one checkpoint in the last level (mercifully). Controls can be clunky, and it'd be helpful to be able to reread the chapter briefs, considering they're two pages each and buried in them is often level crucial information. As an Australian, I found the environment and ambiance to be delightful, though I did find it odd that I was playing as a Cane Toad. Was very frustrating, so I completed it on the spawn setting. Hope the ending cliffhanger is resolved. Shout out Any Austin on youtube for showing this game.15 found this helpful

Fun and challenging game and clearly a lot of heart and soul has been put into it4 found this helpful
It's a game with a lot of heart. Very fair overall, so long as you pay attention to the story. There's also a manual that's been provided that can help explain some of the mechanics and puzzle-relevant text a bit more clearly - sort of a nice old-school touch. I think there was only one part of the game that truly frustrated me, but it's also got checkpoints to make it a little less frustrating. The manual also clued me in to a mechanic that I missed here - but I still think the RNG was a bit against the overall fairness of the rest of the game. The ambience and art was really good. Not much more to say here other than that I really enjoyed the presentation for each level. I'd definitely recommend it, especially for the price. Maybe play through it on the easiest difficulty and, if you're so inclined, crank it up from there for another playthrough.3 found this helpful
This game is very, very hard. My friend I had a crush talked about how hard this game is once, and I bought it immediately to try and impress them. I did not do much better than they had seen anyone else manage. The point of the story is we've set a date for the wedding, and we still talk about this game any time we see video of a frog or a toad.
