About A.V.I
On ██/██/2019, a smartphone was recovered within the United States. The owner of the phone has been missing since ██/██/2014 and the contents of the device included a .AVI file that contained events and locations deemed anomalous.
A.V.I is a horror exploration game in which you are tasked with unveiling the secrets within a recovered, mysterious video file. Explore a mysterious mansion with grotesque happenings and unknown horrors lurking its halls. Unravel puzzles and riddles that will require you to think outside the box and look outside the game to find it's answers. Evade unnatural creatures as they hunt and haunt the mansion's various rooms as you uncover more and more of the mansion's past.

First and foremost, I was a little misled with this game. Until you first open the game, there is no indication that you are required to use external sources to solve certain elements within the game. I have a very strong disliking to these kinds of games, especially when they don't disclose that fact until it's practically too late. Second, the framrate is so unstable I almost gave up straight away. Even on a decent computer, the game lingered around 20fps, which just goes to show how badly optimized this game is. Third, there's about 15 rooms that all have locks on them, and I'd assume you need to go around the mansion solving puzzles to find the keys to unlock these rooms? But... why would you even need access to all of these rooms? Are the puzzles so miniscule that they need to be split into 20 different parts or something? It doesn't make sense. Also, I don't like how sometimes your items dissappear and then suddenly reappear, for example a Lantern that I picked up but couldn't use because it was empty (Why give it to me if I can't use it or replenish the fuel in it?) which for some reason disappeared out of my hand for 10 seconds before mysteriously coming back. Overall, …
it fun intil you get to the part where no one has been able to pass
im the developer, and i think i did a pretty good job.
After playing for two hours, I realized that A.V.I is trying to be an atmospheric sci-fi adventure, but suffers from weak optimization, a dull plot, and monotonous gameplay.
"A.V.I" is a simple and amateurish low poly first person adventure game made with the Blender Game Engine, a game engine so bad that it was quickly abandoned by everyone involved with its development. And, thus, games that are made with this engine turn out to be, well, really not good at all. Such is true for A.V.I. What do you do in the game? The idea is that someone recovered a smartphone in 2019 with a spooky .avi video on it, and you follow up by exploring a spooky low poly mansion. Basically the plot of around 90% of amateur made D-grade "found footage" films, yet here we have a video game that's even worse. You're tasked with exploring a creepy mansion, solving puzzles, and avoiding monsters... your basic low quality first person horror jumpscare game. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. And I say "better"... they assets are low poly dross that really does look awful. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and …
