About Absolute Blue

Absolute Blue is a 2D shoot'em'up that was first released in 2005. Since that was quite a while ago, I decided to offer the game for free to everyone. Please keep in mind that it was created in a different time - nevertheless, I think that it can still be quite fun to face the attacking alien horde in your space fighter. I hope some of you still has some fun hours with it ;-)
About the game

You are an ace pilot and mankind's last hope. Hop into your Jaeger and brave 60 sectors of waves upon waves of enemies by dodging bullets while filling the screen with your own.

Upgrade your trusty ship into a force to be reckoned with as the enemy onslaught will be relentless.

This 2D side-scrolling shooter not only makes you a space traveller, it also transports you back into the glorious 90s with its pumping soundtrack and spectacular, chrome-studded visuals.
 • 60 sectors, 12 levels, 4 huge worlds
 • Explosions and power-ups all over the place
 • 3 difficulty modes
 • Configurable controls: Play with the gamepad, keyboard or even mouse (if you're a momma's boy)
 • 3 different primary weapons
 • Upgrade your ship with up to three satellites
 • Feel real satisfaction when blowing up enemies with your ludicrously awesome sizzling energy ray™ or LASER for short.
 • Manoeuvrer your ship through super-sonic high-speed sections
 • Screen-filling endbosses
 • 80/90s infused synth-soundtrack and sfx (available as free DLC)
Chaotic shooter with prerendered animations. Levels are not that bad but variety of enemies is small. Visuals have some charm but overall gameplay is a bit lacking. Don't press Esc or the ship will explode (seriously). For me game freezes on the menu after dying and choosing any option is impossible. Still might wanna check it out if you like shoot'em ups and ball'em ups.
Absolute Blue pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on cons: //difficult precision movement because touching any walls result in instant loss //could use more powerups and lives //anti-progression with no save feature //repetitive //good game Personal Suggested Purchase Price: Free To Play extra notes: //you pilot a starship while attacking enemy contacts //upbeat music with a few exploding enemies that set the scene //nostalgic 2d side-scroller shoot-em-up

Atari Jaguar graphics and sound. Which is not a bad thing really. But overall not a bad shmup. The most noticeable aspect of the game are is the use of colors. Explosions and backgrounds very much Atari Jaguar. Reminds me of the good ole' days around 1993 before PS1 came out. Worth a few bucks, not much more. I'd recommend just based off the nostalgia.
