Achievement Idler: Red

I am an achievement hunter. High achievement count does not necessarily mean high achievement. Supervise an automated achievement harvesting operation in the real world. You must operate a highly specialized achievement refinery. Tiny amounts of electricity enter one side. Thousands of meaningless accomplishments emerge from the other. Please note that an in-game illustration of this process is not available. This game enters the real world at a totally unexpected level. I am technically "earning" all 5,000 achievements, even though the process requires almost no skill or effort. The cost is microscopic processor power, a functioning computer, cognitive ability to start up the game and leave running and about 1$. The madness comes from the contrast between the appearance of accomplishment on the steam profile and the reality of how those achievements were obtained. This lowers the qualification standard to somewhere below sea level. You will get what you pay for though, which is good in it's honestly. I'm copying and pasting most of this review from the Achievement Idler: Black review I did... Why? Because aside from one little thing, the game is pretty much the same. The difference, in this game you get to shoot hoops while waiting for the achievements to tick over and get to unlock different cosmetic ball designs, so at least there is a little interaction. But shooting hoops is purely optional. Other than that, it's a case of simply waiting for all the achievements to be done... What can I say.... If you buy this expecting there to be some kind of actual playable game, then you've made a mistake. If you bought it knowing it was nothing more than an achievement grab and grind as II did, then you bought the right game. It's 79p UK money at the time of me writing this. So... Easy achievements for very little cost. Based on other reviews, don't close the game window, just let it run it's course. Restarting the game means literally that, restarting from scratch. I'm at around 1000 achievements at this point and that's taken just short of an hour to get to 20% of the way through the game. So for the next 5 hours, I just leave it doing it's thing. Achievement Idler: Red is another simple idle game made mostly for people who enjoy collecting Steam achievements. The gameplay is straightforward. You earn points over time, unlock upgrades, and slowly work through a large list of achievements. It is easy to understand and does not require much effort to play. The progression starts off at a decent pace, and seeing numbers go up can be satisfying for a while. Buying upgrades helps speed things up, and it feels like you are always working towards the next unlock. If you enjoy idle games where you can leave them running in the background, this will probably keep you entertained for a little while. The biggest problem is that the game does not offer much beyond that. There are very few mechanics, and the gameplay never really changes. After the first 15 or 20 minutes, you are mostly waiting for more progress and buying the same types of upgrades over and over again. It becomes repetitive quite quickly. Like many achievement-focused idle games, most of the appeal comes from unlocking achievements rather than the gameplay itself.
