Aegis Online

Aegis Online is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. This is somewhat mediocre 3D rendered virtual tabletop software, to be used as an application to assist remote tabletop gamers visualise the actual game that they are playing. This is as much a game as Skype is... ie, not at all. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Stea…

This table top simulator is very, very basic thus far but does provide sufficient functionality to create a table top experience. The player has to create much of what is needed if they don't want to use the provided assets. Multiple die are present. The UI could use some work. It's barebones but what is offered thus far shows potential.

Could use a few improvements to the UI and maybe a decor prop or 2 but overall pretty good.

I could barely figure out anything. - Drew some blank walls, and somehow 1 brick wall though could not figure out how to do it again. - Placed 2 characters on plates, and somehow a bunch without. - Could not change the texture of anything once it was placed, not that there are any previews for anything anyways. There's no tutorial, and the tool-tips stop after the main menu. This is not something you release, even for free.

Игра Aegis Online приятно удивила. Сначала отнеслась скептически к ещё одной MMORPG, но проработанная система классов, отзывчивая боевая система и обилие контента захватили с головой. Особенно радует возможность тонкой настройки персонажа и активное участие в гильдийских войнах. Графика не самая современная, но стилизация приятная, а масштабные баталии выглядят эпично. Из минусов могу отметить некоторую "гриндерность" на высоких уровнях и не всегда стабильные сервера в пиковое время. Но в целом, достоинства перевешивают недостатки. Интересный сюжет, живой игровой мир и постоянные обновления делают Aegis Online отличным выбором для любителей жанра. Рекомендую попробовать!
