USERS NOTE : This game has some great pieces. If my gripes are things that don't bother you, then I'd recommend this game to those players. --------------- This really bums me out to leave a negative review for this game as it has alot of things that I really enjoyed about it, but the negatives ultimately sink it imo. Let me start off with the good since this game is so close to being great. 4) The platforming puzzles were really well designed. I was really impressed by the devs gameplay chops on a screen to screen basis. 1) Graphics are charming and although some of the levels become a little hard to read, overall i just enjoyed the presentation. 2) The choices you make split the story which is super cool. If you save someone it means you harmed someone else and the game seems to take that into account. It's well done and a really fun feature. 3) The controls mostly feel great and responsive. The platforming is fun and the game mostly feels great to play. The developer did a great job making the game feel good. ------ Now to the bad : 1) The map is really bad. The game is a super fun metroidvania with a good sized world to explore, satisfying combat, and challenging platforming sections. It also has a lot of personality and charm throughout. The only areas I'd love to see improved are the map and fast travel system. It would be much more convenient if the entire map with details could be viewed on a single screen with the ability to zoom in and out, along with a clearer fast travel system that's integrated in the map. I also noticed that, occasionally, attacks wouldn't register immediately after performing a double or triple jump. It's something you can adapt to with the timing, but it did stand out during my playthrough. Overall, I had a really great time with the game and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys metroidvanias.

good and entertaining tho is too similar to hollow knight for it to be judged fairly (hk is amazing)

For now I'm leaving a negative review because I didn't enjoy the game and couldn't progress. I have explored as much as I can, going back to earlier parts of the map again and again in case I missed something, but can't access new areas because they're blocked by gates that open from the other side. It looks like at least 1 gate that is supposed to be opened by an NPC or game progression just isn't open. I appreciate the hard work the developer has put into the game but it needs polish, testing and bug fixing. It is sad to see devs spend so much time on a game, yet after release they don't follow up with player's feedback or address issues from negative reviews. A little more work and this could be a much better game with mostly positive reviews - and more sales!

So many bugs and the game just crashes.. I try to keep playing but I gave up on one of the boss battle. It crashed 4-5 times on the same moment. I decided not to continue and this game is not ready to be released. BAD GAME.

Aestik is great, and it deserves much more attention. It’s not a perfect game by any means, but it’s a solid, well-designed Metroidvania.
