Afterthought

Great game, challenging but very fun mechanics and substantial amounts of thought put into the levels. The game is quite beginner-friendly, and offers a lot as you get more acclimated to the levels and learn how to better tackle familiar situations. Earlier levels will be able to be completed faster as you unlock more through the story, which gives it a great amount of replay-ability. This game is very much oriented towards competitive-level speedrunning, and it does it well. It's simple yet expansive UI helps you see what's important easily such as your the time, an overlay of your inputs and your speed in the horizontal and vertical. Only complaint I have is of the weird preachy meta messages ♥♥♥♥ in one of the worlds. Just a warning if you don't want stuff that you deal with in the real world being told to you when you're trying to play a video game. Other than that and some understandable / occasional glitches nothing really. The game is frequently on sale so I recommend picking it up.

[h1] A Unique Indie Gem [/h1] The unique art and soundtrack in Afterthought captivated me multiple times. Some of the sceneries are a must-see! Also I am very impressed how much care was put into the mechanics, though I still suck at some of the skills (especially getting that Displace Chain). And holy duck, you just have to see the boss fights! Some of them were a struggIe in the beginning, but I can't wait to beat the first boss without taking damage, no matter how many tries it takes haha!! If you are a fan of Indie games, this one will definitely make your heart beat faster!

Afterthought has the best 2d platforming I have played on PC. Play the demo and see for yourself. This game has a compelling art style, smooth and incredibly satisfying gameplay, and an excellent soundtrack. There's also progression which unlocks neat effects for your character, as well as new abilities to improve your times. The game offers extremely detailed breakdowns of your level routes, and can show you ways to improve! Even if you want to just enjoy the story, there's a mode for that too. Afterthought is compelling combination of art and substance, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Afterthought is a platformer with very own and individual movement moves. The aim of this game is to reach the end of a level as quickly as possible. There are 5 different skills available for you. You combine these and you can achieve unbelievably fast speeds. Unlike some other platformers, there is no permadeff or any other form of punishment. Taking damage actually slows time. So this game is also very beginner-friendly, because the more damage you suffer, the slower the game runs. This gives you more time to fine-tune your skills. Of course you don't get good scores anymore. This keeps you repeating the level to beat your high score. You can easily upload your score and also look at the replays of the other players. All in all the art style, soundtrack and animations harmonize very well with each other. I recommend every fan of jump n run games to give this game a try!

I have a current time of 2 hours played and thats more than enough to say this is, by FAR, the singular most underrated game I have ever seen, seriously what the hell is happening? How in the nine realms does this not have an indie CULT by now? Dear developers, I love what you've created.
