Super niche anime brainrot, but it's got solid W. They database patched the Somnium gameplay - now it's actual logic puzzles instead of the random trial-and-error BS from the first game. The new VR room-scanning mechanics are clean, and the AI sidekicks still roast the main characters flawlessly, carrying the comedy)))) Honestly though, they overcooked the main plot just for the sake of being "deep" and edgy. The game pretends to be a normal detective story for a while, until it starts throwing you across parallel timelines. The first game was a perfectly balanced masterpiece!, but this one is just doing too much. ... the original is based and a must-play for everyone, but the sequel is optional - purely for the upgraded gameplay and signature unhinged humor.
If anything, it takes more than 10 hours to finish. I was just too lazy to play it on my PC, so I played it on my “console”.
The second entry in the Somnium Files series delivers an engaging story and an intriguing mystery. The twist is classic Uchikoshi and will leave you thinking about the game long after you finish it. The new characters are great additions to the cast, especially Ryuki and Tama. I also think the Somnium puzzles are a noticeable step up from the first game. On top of that, the improved animations and character models make the game feel even more polished, thanks to its larger budget. If you're a fan of the AI: The Somnium Files series or Uchikoshi's work, this is highly recommended.

i finish all the ending, i think it's an improvement from the last installment in many aspects, but i like the ai somnium much more than in this game, the character is likeable and the story is interesting

Tbh it had crazy potential but it's not at good as the first opus, a lot of the character's purpose felt shallow, including the main characters, and slightly undermining the og game's story/character devs. And that without taking into account how messy the narration gets, with glaring plot holes (and that's having done every routes) Will i still replay it to get every achievements and 100% complete this game ? Yes, obv, it was awesome. The somniums are awesome, outside of their lame save system the mechanics are all an improvement, and most importantly, there wasn't a second where i didn't have fun ! JOIN THE CULT, PLAY THE GAME
