So this was a pretty good purchase in my opinion. The Arabian Nights art style and presentation definitely gives this game charm. I also found the soundtrack to be warm and enjoyable to listen to even if it's a game from 1994. It's a pretty neat CRPG that can really test you in areas, luckily there is a difficulty option at the beginning of the game. The controls may take time getting used to but it certainly isn't unplayable. If you're looking for an Arabian Nights themed CRPG then this game is for you.

Decent game with great ideas to reward some roleplay and beatufiul art, covered by outdated mechanics and controls It's also what D&D needs, settings that are not just sword coast, north or two cities slightly more into the continent

I grew up on this game and am too biased to give a straight review. (I love it to death and hasn't aged as poorly as others, imo, but again I'm biased as hell.) I did want to report that my saves rolled back after closing the game and I lost an hour or so of progress. I'm guessing something with the Steam cloud saves got jumbled up. Maybe it was a fluke! Who knows, but there it is. I've never had that happen with any other game, and these older games can be finnicky. When I play this on DosBOX on a non-Steam install, I've never had saves rollback before.

https://youtu.be/pMLr_2bp5S8 Way ahead of it's time in the 1990s for story and narrative choice, but now more than thirty years later it can't hold up.

I can see what this game was trying to do. At the time, D&D had so many worlds and they were trying to move into video games as it was just becoming popular. The style of the game is like a hybrid of Zelda 2 and Zelda. It should have either gone full platform or point and click like many other D&D games at the time. It just didn't hold interest in this modern era.
