Ale Abbey - Monastery Brewery Tycoon

TL;DR: This game is nothing short of a little gem, and a fantastic game to sip a meditative ale with! 9/10 Art: 10/10 The pixel art matches the renaissance/late middle age style so perfectly it's actually a mystery how this has been achieved. The quality of the animations show that this was not done just to save on development time, but as a precise aesthetic. Absolutely gorgeous! Music: 8/10 Extremely enjoyable, never distracting - of course, there are no outright bangers but that is absolutely not an issue Mechanics: 9/10 It's not easy to create a game that catches the beauty and nuances in every style of beer while, at the same time, offers some level of economic management: one aspect is all but assured to overpower the others. While I'd love to see some QoL automations, without going into a Factorio level of obsession, the game is thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing, breaking the routine just often enough with orders, absurd requests from the count or some eminent religious figure.

Warning: will result in 10-hour binge play sessions where you will wake up from your fugue with as much of a hangover as your Fermentines.

Such a fun management game. Nothing more satisfying than building and running a well-optimized abbey and then creating the absolute best ales that perform well on the markets and dominate in competitions. It's a lot of fun building and decorating the abbey while you hire and train monks and nuns to ensure its operation & upkeep... just make sure you have plenty of spare barrels of ale for them!

It´s pretty fun, but at the endgame game loop becomes too boring and micromanagement stuff begins to annoy you. If I would see more automation at the end I would finish it, but overall it was fun

A soft recommend. It's okay. You don't real feel in control of what is happening and it's not very clear how to actually make good money and the progression is largely hidden. Some of the instructions do not line up with what you see on screen and that could be disorientating. I wanted Game Dev Tychoon with abbots brewing beer, but what I received instead was a fast order game with huge amounts of repetition.
