Аллоды Онлайн is a russian WoW copy that looks and feels like post cataclysm / pre WoD WoW. It's a decent MMORPG with a large online community consisting of russians and turks, You will be able to play over 100 hours and not find a single person that can speak english. During covid this game was quite fun but none of the people that I used to play with have touched the game in years at this point, largely due to the lack of meaningful new content. It's fun to level up and try out the different classes and factions but there really is no incentive to play after that due to the grindy nature of the game (or drop over 15.000 euro to level up your runes to max) The story is surprisingly solid for an MMO and the two factions give the same feeling as Horde Vs Alliance used to do in WoW pre ♥♥♥♥♥ era. It offers two servers, one that is completely free but P2W and another one that is subscription based but has a fraction of the player count. I sadly can't reccommend this game in good faith, P2W servers suck due to the absurd amount of grinding needed and the Sub servers being completely empty. I really wanted to enjoy this game because underneath all the problems there’s actually a good MMORPG here. The world, classes, music, and old-school MMO atmosphere are genuinely enjoyable, and there’s a lot of nostalgia if you grew up with games from this era. Unfortunately, the RU version feels heavily focused on monetization and grinding. Progression becomes frustrating unless you’re willing to invest an unreasonable amount of time or money. PvP balance often feels unfair, especially for newer or returning players trying to catch up. The population also feels inconsistent depending on content and time zones, and many systems feel outdated compared to modern MMOs. Some mechanics are interesting in theory but become repetitive after long-term play. I put a lot of hours into the game because there is potential here, but I can’t honestly recommend it in its current state unless you already know exactly what you’re getting into or you’re playing mainly for nostalgia with friends. There’s a good MMO hidden in here somewhere — it’s just buried under too much grind and monetization.
