RIFT

I have over 160 hours played. Installed to give it a whirl again and the game is acting like I no longer have an account. Guess they just delete peoples accounts after some random time. Good way to kill an MMO.

Played for a few hours, play play more, dunno. The playerbase seems very friendly and welcoming (if somewhat desperate for new players) the game itself feels a lot like 2014 World of Warcraft (Around Cataclysm) I think the way they've done classes is very neat. (Although the game itself feels rather dead there's still enough players if you wanna raid and general chat seems relatively active at lower levels which is a good sign) It is very unique in terms of graphical style with like a slightly gothic sci-fi fantasy look to it. I think it is a little bit dated now but for the time I think it's alright. If you're a fan of older mmos like everquest or classic wow, definately go check it out. And if you prefer more modern or fast paced *ahem* You know who you are, and you probably won't read this but anyway. It feels like a decent enough game. The class customizeation seems to have a fair bit of depth to it. The combat feels decent enough. Over all a 7/10, good enough to be enjoyable and build a devouted and incredibly welcoming fanbase, average enough to be forgotten by everyone outside of that fanbase.

I agree with the other bad reviews.

This game is much better than World of Warcraft in my opinion. The only thing that isn't great is that the developers have stopped releasing new content and as an effect of that, players have largely left the game. That doesn't bother me though. I prefer to play solo and just complete quests. I don't care about dungeons or playing with other people.

Went to play from a old account I had and its been deleted. No point in trying again. Shame really. Don't bother. :(
