When I accept games via the curator, I don't normally write bad reviews, especially if the price is very low, but here they are asking for 10 euros. That's pretty exorbitant, so I'll write a few words about why I think so. Apart from the fact that this game lags like hell and that's not because of the frame rates, it's also badly translated with Google. There are people who like to buy games from small developers and overlook a few bugs, but you shouldn't pay a cent here. You'd be better off buying an old game that's on sale.33 found this helpful
Alvara is a fairly straightforward Unreal Engine asset flip, although it should be noted a little effort went into trying to make a game, and "trying" is the operative word there. But it doesn't pass the basic test for what makes a game anything more than an asset flip. Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took a bunch of Unreal Marketplace/Fab fantasy/RPG assets and rearranged them haphazardly into a kind of third person RPG... thing... and translated everything with Google Translate. Which should be ashamed of itself, because reading this is rough. It's thoroughly unpleasant to play and it's deep in development hell. The developer hasn't updated this in months and there's no coherent plan in sight for this to be completed.…7 found this helpful
First 20 Minutes Gameplay Here I've been waiting for a game like this for some time now... A game that leaves me still unsure of what to write about! This game has so much wasted potential, at least in my opinion. The story isn’t bad—for a classic RPG—but sadly, there are a few things that are a bit jarring. Please note, these are purely my personal opinions, and some of these aspects may or may not be manageable in the game itself. After playing for a few minutes: - Regarding the movement keys (and I’m not sure if this is the same in France), they start with an AZERTY layout, so you’ll need to change them. - For me, this game feels like it’s trying a bit too hard. Sometimes, simpler is better. I understand the devs wanting to showcase the best of their abilities, but occasionally, it feels overdone. - One of the biggest annoyances is the simpleton who’s supposed to teach you the game. It's not his method that bothers me but rather the animation that plays when he's explaining things. It’s not a natural movement; he seems to be... dancing? It makes it distracting when I’m trying to read important instructions that help…5 found this helpful
