ANDROMALIUS

This is a short horror game, that delves into the nervewracking experience of moving into a new space. People are by nature scary beings, which fuels the fire even more when the dark of night covers the sky, and all is set on standby. So you have to ask yourself.

ANDROMALIUS is a compact psychological horror experience developed and published by Unit Zero Studio that deliberately strips the genre down to its most intimate and unsettling elements. Instead of monsters, weapons, or elaborate puzzles, the game builds its tension around a deeply relatable situation: your very first night alone in a new apartment. This mundane starting point is key to its effectiveness, grounding the horror in familiarity before slowly eroding any sense of safety as the night progresses and subtle abnormalities begin to surface. The gameplay is intentionally minimal, placing the player in a first-person perspective and asking them to simply exist within the space. You explore the apartment, move between rooms, and observe your surroundings as small details begin to feel wrong. There is no combat, no inventory management, and no traditional objectives beyond enduring the experience. Progression is tied to time, observation, and interaction with the environment, encouraging players to slow down and pay attention to every sound, flicker of light, or shift in atmosphere. This lack of mechanical distraction ensures that the focus remains squarely on psychological une…

Andromalius is an intriguing indie horror experience that shows promise but doesn't quite reach its full potential. Set in a dark, occult-themed world filled with mystery and unsettling imagery, the game offers an eerie atmosphere that fans of the genre will likely appreciate. Visually, Andromalius creates a suitably creepy environment, with shadowy hallways, unsettling sound design, and disturbing symbols that effectively set the tone. Gameplay-wise, it leans heavily into exploration and puzzle-solving, though some of the mechanics can feel a bit clunky or underdeveloped. The controls are basic, and the pacing can be inconsistent — moments of genuine tension are sometimes followed by long stretches of wandering or backtracking that slow down the momentum. The story has interesting themes involving dark rituals and demonic lore, but the narrative feels a bit vague or unfinished at times. Players looking for deep lore or emotional payoff might come away a little unsatisfied. That said, there are a few clever ideas hidden throughout…

Around 40 minutes gameplay time, tense atmosphere, barely depicted backstory. Successful enough for a low-budget indie horror (more like thriller) game! 👍
