Animal Rescuer

RPG where instead of slaughtering animals you save them. Sadly, the game is scuffed and boring af. It's hard to keep track of anything, whether that be the quests or herbs you need to craft for particular medicine. The quests themselves are god knowns where, there are so many different islands, it takes ages to find the one where the quest is. There is no waypoint either which further complicates things. When I finally reached the destination, I got instantly killed by a level 99999999 enemy and respawned on the opposite side of the island, fun. Don't even know how I would beat the boss since the combat is janky and leveling up the character isn't exactly fast. Looking at the achievements the quests are optional I assume. Besides exploring dull islands, constantly collecting herbs or treasure, occasionally running into a braindead bandit, crafting medicine and healing animals, the game has nothing else to offer.

Edit from 8 hrs to 14 hrs playtime I can't get enough of this game. I bought it for less than 2$ but can safely say its worth the full price of 15 dollars. THE MORE I PLAY this game, the more I like it. There is so much more to this game than the title lets on. You can get lost for hours on this map and there are already dozens of bosses, and tournaments. Full of quests, resource management, resource collection, heroic rescues, strategy, buffs, upgrading and of course animals. Orig review at 8 hours. I bought this cheap game called Animal Rescue because I like to rescue animals. What I got was a pleasant surprise. This is no simple point and click. Great transportation system includes gondolas between islands, couriers to transport sick animals and boats you can use to explore for yourself. Pretty large map with a good economy system in place. Find and collect different herbs and plants around the various islands so you can make the medicines you will need to cure all the animals. Many side quests and dungeons are here too with very satisfying sword fighting. I look forward to many more hours of gameplay here.. More than worth the $1.50 I paid. So many animals so little time !!!!

Was excited to try this game but it was super laggy so wont be continuing it

+ You save animals. + Cool battle animations and slow-mo make battles look like battle cutscenes. - Those very same battle animations are too flashy for practical gameplay. They are long-winded, randomly selected, and although cancellable, but only at the end of the slash where you thought you'd hit the enemy but you moved a little bit and it cancelled while you get slashed to death instead. There's a super-short range pommel strike mixed in there and I managed to trigger it three times in a row. - Enemies dodge roll too much like they're fighting a Dark Souls boss. - Game puts chests in hidden places, sometimes on rocky platforms, and there are times I got stuck because I slid down into a hole and can't jump back up. No "Unstuck" option. The only option is to quit the game, get reset back to a fixed point, and hope your autosave progress is very recent. - Minimal story.
