About Ankh 3: Battle of the Gods

The omens of the Battle of the Gods have been many, signaling the impending fight for supremacy over all other gods of Egypt. And of course, Assil will be caught in the middle of it all again. Together with his girlfriend Thara, he will have to prevent the sinister Seth from winning the battle and subjecting Egypt to his regime of terror. With the typical Ankh humour, numerous bizarre characters and gags by the wagonload, Ankh - Battle Of The Gods is again a candidate for the adventure gaming throne.

Battle Of The Gods feature several new locations, including Luxor, the gambling capital of ancient Egypt. And an unexpected trip takes Assil to a far-away, exotic location, where he will have to deal with the entirely unfamiliar conventions of its native people. The new Ankh features even more detailed character models and smoother animations.

pros + vividly colored nice looking cartoony 3D graphics + there are some funny moments + story is fast paced and enjoyable + egyptian background musics perfectly fits game's atmosphere + diverse cast of witty and engaging characters + character models and cutscenes looks decent + some puzzles enjoyable. there are also inventory puzzles you can combine some items + two playable characters and they are quite likeable cons - dialogs and subtitles sometimes doesn't match - voice acting hit and miss - some puzzle solutions quite nonsensical. therefore generally you don't know what supposed to do - there are no steam achievements - there are no cards - lack of a button which shows hotspots causes pixel hunting - lack of a interactive map causes too much backtracking - a hint system would be helpful. Overall, this final game is an good follow up to trilogy. i quite enjoyed and recommended it.

This game gets a thumbs up from me but barely. It's a decent little point and click adventure that was actually rated pretty highly during its time by the German gaming press but does not hold up particularly well. Let's start with the pros though: - It's not too long and can be finished in well under 10 hours - The game is usually heavily discounted on Steam and can be had for about a dollar at times - It finally has on option to highlight objects on screen (press X) Now for some of the negative: - The story is a direct continuation of the previous game and will make even less sense if you haven't played that one already - But even then, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense and some puzzles seems to be there just for the sake of having them - It's not as funny as it thinks it is - most of the jokes fell flat for me - The puzzles are hit and miss, they are either painfully obvious and trivial or rather obscure and convoluted - Game tends to just quit when you try to switch back to it from ALT+TAB - so save often! - The accents from the voice cast are all over the place and don't make a whole lot of sense - They make a big deal of being able to switch between characters early o…

Sure. It's not the worst or best point and click but has it's moments. Needed a walkthrough for some parts.

Pros - Decent voice acting although the accents don't really fit the epoch. - Nice graphics for the time - Humorous dialog - Show hot-spots tool (hold X on keyboard) - Supports Full-HD and WUXGA seems to v-sync OK with no tearing. - There is a basic hint system; you're controlling two characters and if you have one character talk with the other then they will sometimes provide some basic clue or instruction for what you should be doing or focusing on (or you can also press the tab key which will bring up a basic todo list.) - Subtitles can be disabled for a more immersive experience. - Plenty of points of interaction with commentary from protagonist. - Mostly playable with the mouse although you will need the keyboard to exit/save game as well as use the hot-spot reveal tool. Cons - Left mouse button is for observation and right mouse button is for action which is opposite of pretty much every other point and click adventure game. - While the voice acting is good some of the lines especially from the main character (Assil) are recorded at a really low volume. Other lines are too loud. - When there is a dialogue scene the game tries to go for a dept of field kind of a effect but…

I haven't played the first Ankh, but 2 and 3 are to be avoided.
