Anna: The Series Test

I was curious about this game and it came recommended to me. Unfortunately, its absolutely not my thing. 65 mins in and I'm tapping out for a refund. ALL of the models are overly thin, almost to the point of anorexic or alien looking. They just look OFF like drug addicts that have been left out in the sun. The story is disjointed and poorly written. Tons of typos, grammar errors, and the way you pick anyone and move anywhere through the story means that parts happen out of order weirdly and it only furthers the unsettled and unpleasant feeling the whole thing gives off. Also, 65 minutes of story and by the end of the first 25 minutes I'm mostly skipping scenes and STILL only find the very first adult scene. And that was when I knew I needed a refund. Its like watching two sticks go at it. The few animated moments before this (there are a few moments where you see a person walk into an area, one dances, another just kind of flips out for no reason) should have warned me: they were like watching the wooden artist dolls move and dance. Then it got worse when two models were on the screen interacting. The "smiles" were sharp joker-esque rictus grins, the "pleasure faces" looked like …

The story and its many endings are well-written and pretty much why I recommend this game, though it'd have been better if there weren't any typos. The graphics are pretty good. For me this game had no feeling in the plot..............No explosions, No Rape and pillage. No magic, No Pirates and No earth destroyed by meteor attack.

First and foremost, the art (and particularly the girls) is all exceedingly well-done and attractive. There's actually small bits of animation, which is something I haven't encountered beyond the standard “flip book” style animations in these sort of adult VN's. While there's not voice acting (aside from brief points where a character's name might be said), there is a pretty nice soundtrack – all vaporwave/synth electronica, which I personally found very enjoyable. The game starts out exceedingly weird, deliberately hiding crucial information from you about literally everything. In a lot of cases, this would be frustrating, but there's actually plot-related reasons. (Amnesia, which, while flimsy, works as a plot device.)
