Ants: Leaf-al Warfare

[h3]My play experience of the game: [/h3] I open the game, and notice that by default, all of the sound in the game is muted, so I turn it up. I decided to play by myself, but I found out that there's no enemy AI. But I can still load into a match where it's just me by myself. The music is a constant loop of vague battle drums that gets really repetitive after a minute or so. I got bored and spent the match trying to kill my own ants, all the while the camera keeps cutting to random locations to show me nothing happening, but sometimes there's a crate falling, but mostly meaning I can't actually use my moves because I can't see where I am. When I first got to play as my Ant Queen, the Ice one, I picked to use her class ability, where the camera showed several ice spikes slowly rising out of the ground one by one, forcefully making me wait about a full minute with no control. All of the ice spikes were placed in locations where they couldn't actually rise out of the ground. I knocked down a BBQ with a rock attack that my Ant queen was under, causing her to get pushed out of the map. When I next got to play as my Queen, I could move underneath the map and shoot back above the map. I …

Game of the year for sure

Ants: Leaf al Warfare is a really fun little turn based strategy game that immediately won me over with how ridiculous its setup is. I command a colony of ants in a turf war against rival armies, but the battlefield is also filled with environmental dangers that can completely change the situation. I liked that mixture of serious tactical positioning and cartoon chaos because it makes even simple turns feel unpredictable. The combat is built around moving my ants into useful positions and choosing the right weapons for each situation. I have to think about range, positioning and which enemy is worth targeting before committing to an attack. The turn based structure gives me plenty of time to plan, but the battlefield hazards mean I still cannot assume everything will go according to plan. I enjoyed that balance because it rewards careful thinking without making every match feel slow. The Queen ant is probably the most interesting strategic element. Each army has its own special ability, giving me another important decision during a battle. Protecting the Queen matters because losing her makes the rest of the army more vulnerable and removes that special ability. I liked having th…

Me and my friend where looking for free games to paly and this game popped up do not know the reason for this game but it was alright. Decent Game.
