When I was 10 I was so obsessed with this game and did a bunch of chores for my brother so he'd pay the then $20 to buy the full version for me. It's crazy how everything feels so much bigger when you're a kid; it's just clicking fight over and over, it hardly even qualifies as a game, but man I wish I could play the version of it that exists in my memories, because that game was EPIC. Anyway, get it on sale, don't pay more than $2 for it

After finally beating the game, I've had to change my review. While, initially, this is a fun, legacy flash game, it quickly becomes a repetitive assortment of clicks with seemingly random results. * The "auto battle" function doesn't work well and will tell you to retreat when the enemy can literally do zero damage to you * The Enemies do not have any kind of standardized health/attack/defense stats and can show up 2 times in a single day with vastly different values * The locations seem to indicate that they have buffs for specific resources but don't really seem like they do and the bonuses you *do* actually get become useless by the time you hit 1M ants * Gem purchases don't scale and the cost to benefit balance is completely off * The weather system is absolutely insane and unrealistic * The artwork is.... not great and doesn't make sense, I mean, they have assets for wasps/bees, why are they using a recolored fly instead?? * The end game is effectively you just spam clicking a single spot on the screen so that you can start each new day as quickly as possible All in all, this is a poorly designed game that is preying on nostalgic chumps like myself to make money. Do yoursel…
Hard to recommend at full price
I first played a free, browser-based version of this game back in the early 2000's, which only had a demo for the first 10(?) levels or so at the time. It stuck with me so much that I decided to get it while it was on sale here on Steam to try the full game. Early Game - Enjoyable resource management Mid Game - Can look forward to unlocking each area as you level up and try to go for more difficult battle encounters, but the game as a whole is not super complex. As it continues, some aspects tend to become more trivial, and once you've hit a million ants, you've essentially experienced the game End Game - While I won't go over every mechanic in detail, this is where I would say the game becomes a slog Somewhere around the level 50's as you're unlocking the last area, the balance just slowly tapers off. Enemy encounters scale with you progressively, but it gets to a point where you can't justify the losses. The initial upgrade balancing makes sense, but you'd have to sink a ton of time grinding encounters (and then rebuilding the ant population) to get up to the 2000 gem items. Put together, there's not re…

This is a genuinely awful game but I love it so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much for no discernible reason. Do not buy it unless you're mentally ill.

https://youtu.be/C6OImMKA0Eo Taking a retired flash game that requires nothing much besides patience as numbers climb up is less than a compelling gameplay experience.
