About Arcana Academy

Arcana Academy is a magic-themed card simulation management game filled with many mysteries waiting to be discovered. In the game, you play as a mage headmaster, freely constructing your magic academy, summoning human, elf, and even dangerous vampire and werewolf students to support the reconstruction of the empire.

If you could freely Construct and develop your Magic Academy, would you choose to teach Students or nurture Monsters?

Use over 300 collectible buildings or cards to freely construct your own magic academy, from Regular Classrooms to Mage Spires, from manual Workshops to automated Production—upgrade Facilities and Buildings step by step, improve Production lines, and boost Production efficiency. Summon different Races, handle sudden Events, and explore over 200 unique Mainline or random Events.

What happens when the mysterious Summon Student ritual circle is tainted with Demon blood? Where will the Ritual lead?

With over 40 mysterious and special summon rituals, add your favorite materials to the ritual—offerings can be souls, money, or even living beings. The correct execution of a ritual usually requires fixed offerings, and the results are generally consistent; but if you break the rules, the outcome may lead to terrifying unknowns...

Customize every aspect of your academy, from its name to its teaching philosophy—will you pursue all-around development or focus on specialization?

Every academy's name and emblem can be freely defined. analyze each apprentice's unique trait combination (randomly generated from over 200 traits), select and admit them to your academy, teach according to their abilities, and enforce discipline with over 40 different academy rules for those lacking self-control. With over 100 different magic books, help them unravel the mysteries of the elements, Select their future class paths, and complete assessments. There are over 100 different wizard class selection assessments, leading them to become geniuses... or fall into mediocrity.

When facing fearsome monsters and demons, will you select to fight together, or offer some "offerings" to temporarily ease the crisis?

During your academy's construction, monsters will constantly eye you with hostility. To ensure peace and stability for your academy, you can send people to deal with them, or pay some "protection fees" in exchange for more development opportunities.

Will the ever-unlocking new magic and technology help you create a Legend, or bring more disasters and crises?

With over 120 researchable blueprints, as you expand your academy, you will encounter new knowledge and magic, master more technology, and fully automate production to rapidly develop your academy. But continuous development is a double-edged sword—more crises may follow, so be sure to prepare accordingly. If you enjoy any of the following titles, we think you’ll love Arcana Academy:Hogwarts Legacy, Harry Potter, Mind Over Magic, Stacklands, Cultist Simulator, Cardboard Town, Ways of Alchemy, Spellcaster University, Stack to Ascension, Card Cultivation, WitchHand, Witchbrook...

✦ AI summary

Players praise the card-based gameplay concept and relaxing academy-building mechanics that can evolve into engaging unit management challenges, with some enjoying the variety of difficulty options and event-driven exploration. However, the game is hampered by significant issues including mandatory always-online DRM for a singleplayer experience, poor English translations that create confusion about mechanics, incomplete game balance (particularly with happiness and kingdom rules systems), apparent reliance on AI-generated content, and overall polish concerns that make it feel like a low-effor

Can't play offline. Game will close itself because it keeps connecting to their servers. Yes, for a singleplayer game with no multiplayer it requires you to be always online. Wild. If it's for DRM or anti-piracy measures then I have to question the use of AI art. There is a saying - A thief believes everybody steals.

Poorly developed game. Game is incomplete with poor translations which leave you guessing at times at what your supposed to doing. There is a happiness meter that seems only affected by food and certain building but I can't figure out how to increase it enough so people are not dying or sick. This is while making the best food I can and not having any negatives. There is also kingdom rules that can provide increased stats to certain things but the downside of using them outweighs their benefits. This could be a good card game but the problems above just leave you frustrated.

Feels really clunky, has lots of typos. And apparently according to some people on the Steam forums, this (likely Chinese) company has advertised this game by spamming on various discord servers. Everything about this feels like a low-effort cash grab. I hadn't even noticed the AI generated content disclaimer at the bottom of the Steam page. While I personally don't care if some AI is used in creating a game, this one feels like nearly the entire game was made with AI and as little as possible human creativity and effort was used.

What a charming little game! After defeating the Slime King, you can summon a Slime Apprentice. You can also summon a Specter Apprentice by sacrificing a Human Apprentice. It begins as a very relaxing experience, perfect for winding down before bed, but before you know, it turns into a unit management challenge that’s impossible to put down.
