About Armada: Last Light

Epic Combat

Engage in strategic battles with hundreds of ships using simple commands and tactical deployments. Carefully plan your attacks to preserve your fleet’s strength as you prepare for the ultimate confrontation against the enemy Leviathan.

Fleet Management

Take control of your fleet and unlock its full potential by liberating planets. With each victory, you’ll gain a chance to acquire new ship blueprints or tech upgrades, allowing you to customize your fleet to overcome increasingly difficult enemies.

Tech Upgrades

Transform your fleet with powerful tech upgrades that dramatically enhance your ships’ capabilities. Discover new tools and enhancements to outmaneuver and outgun your enemies.

Dynamic Maps

Explore a galaxy that evolves with every run. Each playthrough introduces unique galaxies filled with diverse challenges, opportunities, and dangers.

Roguelite Progression

Each time you liberate a galaxy, you unlock higher tiers of difficulty and earn a new ship to permanently add to your collection. Future games start with these ships in your fleet. The higher the tier of the galaxy you liberate, the more powerful the ship you receive.

Very fun autobattler that’s surprisingly deep.

Fun game with fun progression. Rough around the edges with work to be done cleaning things up but well worth the 9 bucks.

Just needs some balance, no real strategy. Same thing every cycle. Very slow progression.

Enjoyable for a little while at present (5/27/2025). There are balancing issues (beam weapon laser tag seems to be the meta, instagib or die), lack of multithreading support (I'm on an older CPU with a decent GPU, and get dropped into Powerpoint mode when battles start due to lack of single-thread power), and lots of things are mislabeled or don't work properly when clicked... unless you click into another screen and back in, and it's still not clear if it "took"... I would call this "alpha" quality as of today. However I'm looking forward to seeing it finished as it's a charming little game. As of now, can't recommend, but will try to update in the future as they polish things up.

I am relatively new to the modern auto-battler genre, but I am familiar with similar games back in the day (even dating back to the old bootleg Star Trek ASCII game). I found this game to be surprisingly accessible, with a low barrier to entry. It's compelling to watch the battles play out, even in the earlier stages where you have only a few "degrees of freedom" to play with. Couple that with nice visuals and great music and you've got yourself a satisfying experience. (Bonus points for being quite playable on Steam Deck -- give it a try!)
