Asdivine Hearts is a classic, party-based JRPG that aims for a familiar “old-school” adventure: explore towns and dungeons, talk to NPCs, and fight a steady stream of turn-based battles. It doesn’t try to reinvent the genre, but it delivers a straightforward journey with a light tone and a comfortable pace. The story starts with a world that’s gradually slipping into trouble after a strange event, and the main characters get swept into something much bigger than their everyday lives. Early on, a mysterious cat-like companion claims to be tied to the world’s fate, pushing the party toward a quest that mixes earnest heroics with plenty of playful dialogue. Combat is traditional turn-based: you choose attacks, skills, and spells while managing health and magic resources. Encounters are frequent, and the game keeps things readable and quick rather than overly complex. If you enjoy steady, rhythmic battles where growth comes from incremental upgrades, it fits well. I mean, sure, it isn't an AMAZING game or anything. But honestly, it was cute enough for me to keep playing. Some of the design choices caught my attention (like assigning gems) and none of it was so unpalatable that I stopped playing. Don't drop a ton of money on this, especially if you aren't a JRPG fan already, but if you enjoy the genre you'll find this game enjoyable enough to not regret purchasing it, especially on sale. Basically, its a mid-level game at a mid-level price.

Pues me ha encantado. Un RPG con un buen combate, más complejo de lo que parece. Con enemigos que pueden estar en 9 posiciones distintas, al igual que tu grupo. Muchas magias y habilidades., con "limits breaks" un poco a lo Final Fantasy VII original, y un ataque especial que se va cargando conforma peleas. La historia empieza muy genérica, pero poco a poco va mejorando mucho. La exploración es donde falla, ya que no hay apenas. De hecho, los pueblos no aparecen hasta que la historia lo requiere, si vas alli antes, no hay nada en el mapa. La dificultad (en normal) está muy bien medida, excepto por los jefes. A mitad del juego, los jefes pegan un subidón brutal de dificultad, que no tienen ni punto de comparación con el nivel de combates de sus escenarios. Lo peor del juego con diferencia. Me esperaba algo mucho peor, teniendo en cuenta que KEMCO edita un juego cada 1 o 2 meses, pero vale mucho la pena si te gustan los JRPGs clásicos.

While far from groundbreaking, I think this is the kind of JRPG comfort food that people seeking out this kind of title are drawn to. If you're interested enough to read this review, go ahead and give it a shot. You can certainly do worse for your money in this space.

The playstyle is typical to what you may expect from a JRPG - exponential difficulty spikes that are to be mitigated with hours of monotonous grinding. If you're considering picking up the title, do keep the above in mind as it will feel like a slog at some point. That aside, this is quite well made and fairly enjoyable. The story does make less sense the further you progress into it though. $10 is a little too steep, wait for a 50% sale.
