Atomic Escape: Reverse Escape Room

This game reeks of AI, in everything from art direction to story to puzzle design, although at least it's relatively less buggy than most AI software, so a human has touched it at some point. (There are some game-breaking bugs, though, if you're too inquisitive, but it's mostly solutions sometimes trigger before actually solving the puzzle.) There's also a host of misspellings and awkward phrasings, including one that changes everything. Bizarrely, two puzzles have no hints at all and are purely trial-and-error. There's an unfortunate amount of pixel-hunting, clicking everywhere in hopes of stumbling onto a clue or interactive item, and a few times you might need to quit and reload just to get a solution working. I didn't really enjoy it, and I normally love escape-room style games. On the other hand, I did get it on sale for a dollar, and it gave me a little diversion, so meh.

It does nothing really exciting or new on any front, the puzzle design is mostly uninteresting, sometimes OK at best, but certainly nothing I haven't seen dozens of times already. Atomic Escape is the oatmeal of escape rooms. The auto-note taking system make the puzzles quite easy. The visuals are... just not good, despite what the game description says. It looks and plays like a someones cobbled-together solo project from the Flash era. I have played much better free escape rooms on Itch. Even though I got this on a deep sale for 1.24€‎, I still feel like I wasted my money and time. Definitely did not make me excited for part 2. While it was mildly entertaining, I will forget I even played this game in a few days.

loved this game - very well put together - had to restart because i thought there was a bug but it was just me not thinking (!) loved the puzzles and everything about it. well done developers. will follow and replay this game again.

Enjoyable little escape room game. Flows pretty well. Navigation is quick and easy once you get the layout of the place. Everything felt pretty logical. Had to check a walk though at one point as while there is a hint system it only displays a hint to one particular puzzle at a time. So I got stuck as the hint was pointing to a puzzle I didn't have access to at the time. A notepad will automatically collect clues/details as you find them so often it's easy enough to progress by referring back to that when you're lost as it will give you some guidance. Helped me out quite a few times. Can't argue with the price I paid for it. I imagine most player should be able to clear it within a few hours. Hope they continue with a sequel by all means.

The game was enjoyable and well-designed, with a logical progression. The graphics were impressive compared to other point-and-click games I've played. Puzzles ranged from straightforward to moderately challenging. However, some puzzle solutions felt somewhat obscure, requiring a bit of a leap of logic to connect the in-game clues.

A good puzzle game with sometimes obscure solutions, but very satisfying for its price overall.
