I honestly can't remember ever playing this game.

You're in a cylinder. You move a space ship on the inner surface (excluding bottom and top) using a controller of your choice (even gaze control is available). You avoid hitting colored circles and try to pick up the powerups that kill them. When you pick up a powerup, you try to match the beat of the song. There's enough content to last almost two hours if you try to get 3 stars for all songs (easy) and all the achievements (fairly difficult). If you need more after that, you can compete on the global leaderboards. Apparently those offer good competition, since I only got into the top10 for one song during my 1.7 hours. The price is right, controls work and you can play standing or sitting. If you're interested in a 2D Xortex, you should definitely give this one a go.

So I got this game in a bundled sale (added on game for about $1.50 extra when I bought another game on sale that I wanted) and I didn't think i would like it that much, but I figured it's only $1.50, no big deal if it ends up being a turd. I ended up loving this game and not liking the other game so much (a mini-golf game by same dev). Bullet hell games don't really appeal to me. But this is not exactly that. Games controlled by gaze also don't really appeal to me (luckily, you can guide the ship with motion controls or gamepad). This is actually one of the most fun VR music rhythm games and it's very different than anything else out there in VR. One of the reasons I didn't want this game is because I just didn't see what VR would bring to the table to this type of game. It's not like you need a depth of field to play this game. But oh boy, was I wrong. VR makes this game even better because you have a screen that just keeps moving to wherever you're headed. The music is not something that I would listen to outside of the game. But it's very well in sync with the gameplay. You play to the beat. I never felt frustrated or stressed out by the gameplay. [h1]A rhythm game that doesn't quite hit the mark[/h1] I feel bad giving a thumbs down because this game does have potential. The concept is really neat, and the game is quite polished compared to most VR games out there. But two central things got in the way: - In a rhythm game, you do not want sound effects that play off beat and mess up your coordination. The main weapons in the game are a bomb with an exploding sound that comes after your attack instead of punctuating it on the beat. - The gameplay in general is not that engaging. For a bullet hell game, the weapons and effects are surprisingly tame. All in all it just didn't hook me, which is a shame because it looks great, the music is pretty cool, and with just some more work it could be great.

possibly the best rhythm game on the Vive. Good # of songs and most are very catchy.. very simple yet addicting gameplay and looks great in VR
