Avenger Bird, developed by TiliaSoft and published by Ultimate Games S.A., is a small-scale platformer that draws heavily from classic arcade sensibilities, focusing on precision, repetition, and mechanical mastery rather than narrative depth or modern design complexity. It positions itself as a nostalgic throwback, embracing the simplicity and challenge of older games while delivering a compact experience built around a single core idea. The premise is minimal and functional: players take control of a bird on a mission to rescue its captured offspring. This setup provides just enough context to frame the journey, but the game makes no attempt to develop its story beyond this basic motivation. Instead, it places full emphasis on gameplay, structuring the experience around a sequence of levels that gradually increase in difficulty. Each stage is designed as a contained challenge, where success depends entirely on execution rather than exploration or narrative progression. What sets the game apart from more traditional platformers is its movement system. Rather than relying on standard running and jumping mechanics, the player must manage controlled flight using limited energy rese…

I don't recommend this game and I don't do it easily, because there is A LOT about it to appreciate like the colourfull graphics, the elusive soundtrack, the many hidden oldschool referring eastereggs or the interesting level design, just to name a few ... I mean, I get it that the game is built around it's jumping mechanics and it's floaty for a reason. Too bad it isn't implemented in a more playable way, because the way it is mostly everytime you die is because of the controls. Everything would be alright if it had normal double jump physics. The way it's right now it's just not much fun to play, because half of the time it just doesn't work even if you get used to it. Too bad because everything else is so well crafted. I guess that will be the reason I will get those achievements too. And there is a relatively high completion rate worldwide as you may discover. Sadly it just won't be as much fun as it easily could have been.

This is a hesitant thumbs up. Its got a lot of potential. Its got a very Mario-esque overworld, and an old school platforming/collect-a-thon style. The real killer is the mechanics that make this game unique. The flying and gliding just never feel right, and often feel like more of a chore than a positive quality of the game.

The reviews are true!!!! I'm so sad, this is my first ever thumbs down, everything about this little game is great BUT the mechanics, it doesn't matter how nice a game looks and sounds but if it's just a burden trying to control the character, them it sucks all the joy out of it, if this game gets an update with patch notes stating control fixes then i will try again, i really want to clear the map and get those little birdies back!!!
