About Axizon Labs: Zombies

Axizon Labs: Zombies is a 2D Sci-Fi themed Platform Zombie Shooter Game based on the story of the sudden ZMB Virus outbreak which affected 30% of the population around the world.

In 2019, various experiments were performed in Axizon Secret Laboratories and the leakage of a dangerous Virus Sample, called "ZMB Virus" from the lab, caused panic among the people all around the globe. People got infected by "ZMB virus" as soon as they came in contact with each other and turned into mindless zombies. During the pandemic, the UR Task Force came to know from the various sources that an Antidote of "ZMB Virus" had already been prepared secretly in the same lab and the leakage of such a dangerous virus was intentional. Steve, one of the members of the UR Task Force, had been commanded by Kris, The Commander General, to visit Axizon Secret Labs in order to collect the Antidote, to eliminate the Zombies, and Turrets, and to shut down the Zombie Creation Facility. One of the members of UR Task Force along with many other people have gone missing mysteriously. Steve and Kris set out on a journey to cease the Zombie Creation Facility at any cost. However, there are thousands of zombies waiting to feast on them.

✦ AI summary

Players overwhelmingly dismiss Axizon Labs as poorly executed, criticizing its unappealing pixel art, awkward character animations, and clunky platforming mechanics that fail to deliver on its retro shooter concept. While the game attempts to capture classic arcade action with a zombie apocalypse twist, reviewers agree the final product lacks the polish and quality needed to justify its existence, even as a budget title.

Axizon Labs is a retro pixel 2D twin stick style shooter with platformer elements. Explore a laboratory complex in the middle of an outbreak and shoot all the zombies with a bit of jumping around added in. The quality here is inexplicably terrible. Hideous pixel graphics that look nothing like the 1990's time period they're trying to rip off, despite being released in 2020. The characters twitch and shrug like they have tourettes, possibly an incompetent attempt from the developers to make them look lifelike or something, but it just makes them look a bit more like Chucky from Child's Play only badly drawn. Platforming is clunky and buggy and just doesn't work. Why do I buy these crappy game bundles?

Axizon Labs: Zombies feels like a deliberate throwback to the era when side-scrolling shooters focused less on cinematic storytelling and massive open worlds and more on fast action, difficult enemy encounters, and constant momentum. Developed and published by Anamik Majumdar, the game combines retro arcade sensibilities with science-fiction horror themes to create an indie action platformer that clearly draws inspiration from classic run-and-gun titles while adding its own zombie apocalypse setting. The game immediately presents itself as a straightforward experience centered around survival, combat, and exploration inside a dangerous research facility overrun by infected creatures. Although it lacks the budget and polish of larger indie productions, it compensates with enthusiasm, solid gameplay fundamentals, and a strong appreciation for old-school action design. The story follows Steve, a member of the UR Task Force who is sent into the mysterious Axizon Secret Laboratories after a deadly biological outbreak begins transforming people into violent mutants and zombies. The laboratory’s experimental ZMB Virus quickly spirals out of control, plunging the facility into chaos while…
