Players consistently praise the game's beautiful art style, atmospheric visuals, and engaging story with Arabic voice acting, but find the gameplay shallow and repetitive with limited challenge and variety. Common complaints include awkward controls causing hand fatigue, technical performance issues in certain areas, lack of replay value, and underwhelming use of swimming mechanics, though many appreciate the creative foundation and express hope for improvements in future titles from this Saudi developer.
a visually beautiful game, but with poor and boring gameplay, which is frustrating considering the experience could have been (harder , more enjoyable, and more varied) i wish the idea of swimming with the character had been used in a more fun way. I hope to see improvement in future games. "i play 18 hours but in ofline mode"10 found this helpful
Short review
Gameplay: Bahamut is a 2D puzzle game with omnidirectional movement (since you're in the ocean) where you navigate polluted waters with your light and draw shapes to unlock doors and collect lore snippets. Each chapter introduces new mechanics revolving around drawing with light, and there are no failure states; the game simply resets you to the nearest checkpoint. I beat Bahamut in just under 3 hours and it holds no replay value, unless you want to unlock the 2 exploration-specific achievements. Story: Straightforward storytelling narrated in the background with Arabic voice acting that may be a bit difficult to hear due to the slow and deep nature of Bahamut's voice. Born from a nascent Saudi game development ecosystem, Bahamut is a short story revolving around two guardians and a 'light' that emerged from a special fruit. The game features simple controls, beautiful art, and hints of Arabian culture. While it is a short game that isn't breaking any new ground, I am glad to see well-made games with artistic merit being released from the region. I do hope that the devs create a game in the future that takes risks in creating more subjectiv…1 found this helpful
The game is good, but honestly it could use more QOL improvements overall. I played on mouse and keyboard… or let’s say keyboard only, because the mouse was basically just watching me play. Most of the game you move with WASD while holding Space, and since you do that for like 75% of the game, my hand started going numb halfway through. Still, the idea is fun and the game has potential. Just improving the controls and making the gameplay a bit more comfortable would help a lot.
Really cool game! I loved it — the art style is beautiful, and the environment feels unique and atmospheric. The puzzles are fun and engaging, and I think a bit more difficulty would make solving them even more rewarding. It would also be great if there was some light combat or simple action elements to add more variety to the gameplay. Sometimes I felt a bit lost in the environment, so having clearer signs or even a mini map would help with navigation. Overall, it’s a very creative and enjoyable game, and I’m excited to see how it evolves in the future!
