Bam Bam Boom is a simple little arcade style game that I found quite easy to pick up and play. The idea is basically to keep shooting and blowing things up while trying to survive and improve my score. It does not take long to understand what I am supposed to be doing, which I think works well for this kind of game because I can jump straight into the action without having to learn a huge number of complicated systems. The shooting is the main reason I enjoyed it. There is something satisfying about lining up an attack, watching enemies get hit and then trying to keep the action going without making a mistake. The game encourages me to stay active rather than sitting around waiting, so even though the controls are simple, there is still a bit of pressure once things start moving faster. I also liked the explosive side of the gameplay. The name definitely gives away what the game wants me to focus on, and there is a nice sense of impact when I manage to take out several things in quick succession. It has that old school arcade feeling where I am mostly concerned with surviving, getting a better score and seeing how far I can push a run. The biggest weakness for me is that the sim…
