Purchased on sale for less than a dollar and I wouldn't recommend paying more in its current state. Seems to have been abandoned by the developer. No updates in over a year and only 20 songs to play. Once you clear those, there isn't much left to do. Fun for the brief time you'll spend with it and hope someday this gets the full release build it deserves.5 found this helpful
I had more fun with this than I expected! The two Insane difficulty songs were frustrating but ultimately doable. Keeping the multiplier going was tricky, so I didn’t rack up many high scores. The game has nice visuals and some unique mechanics compared to other rhythm games I’ve played. Hopefully, custom songs will be added in the future. It didn’t take too long to beat, and while I’m not motivated to keep grinding for better scores, I felt the price was fair for a few hours of fun.1 found this helpful
very nice game; it needs more maps
BandRoll is an indie rhythm-based platformer developed by Bluespy Studios and published by Next in Game that tries to merge the pulse of music with the precision of movement. It takes a familiar concept—the challenge of navigating an obstacle course—then ties every jump, fall, and roll to the beat of the soundtrack. The result is a hybrid experience that sits somewhere between a rhythm game and a reflex-driven platformer, wrapped in a vibrant neon aesthetic that pulses with energy. The premise is straightforward but effective: you control a small rolling ball, guiding it across a series of tracks that shift and morph in time with the music. Each level corresponds to a musical genre, from electronic and metal to classical compositions, and your task is to survive through the track’s entire duration while maintaining synchronization with the beat. It’s a simple concept, but one that demands focus, rhythm, and precise timing. The game’s presentation is one of its strongest aspects. BandRoll thrives on its visual style, bathing every environment in luminous color and dynamic light effects that respond to the rhythm of the song. Platforms glow, backgrounds pulse, and visual cues flash …
I really enjoy playing this for short bursts, and for the current price (£1.69), that's great. I'm crap at rhythm games when they get a little bit harder, but it's quite addictive. Simple, with nice graphics. However, I haven't see any development on it since I bought it 2 years ago, so maybe don't expect anything more.
I had more fun with it than I expected. The two Insane difficulty songs definitely provided some frustration but they were eventually doable. I didn't have a whole lot of high scores, it can be hard to keep the multiplier going. The game has nice visuals and the mechanics were pretty unique compared to other rhythm games I've played so far. Hopefully the custom songs will be added some day. Didn't take incredibly long to beat, and personally I'm not super interested in continuing to play for better scores. But, I thought it was a good price for a couple hours of playtime.
