I am a major fan of Megaman, and have played a lot of clones. However, not one of them, even the most acclaimed ones like RKS, can come close to being as enjoyable to me as Invasher is. Invasher is great at being both a good Megaman clone, and also carving it's own identity with the way it handles boss fights. The levels play like your standard Megaman clone, but the boss fights are typically in two phases: the combat phase, and the bullet hell phase. In the combat phase, you get your chance to damage the enemy using whatever weapons you have. After they take a certain amount of damage, it switches into bullet hell mode, where you are unable to hit the enemy and have to dodge a barrage of attacks before they come back. This made learning the boss patterns very fun. The graphics are simplistic and adorable, really matching the feel of the old school Megaman games. However, a lot of modern Megaman mechanics such as easy modes with added platforms and a shop are added. Unlike Megaman, you will need to buy any weapons after unlocking them, but they're all worth getting even if some bosses are easier to defeat shot only. While the design looks and feels like something straight from Flash games you see on websites (anyone during 2000 era that does this knows what I'm talking about, though I'm sure some people still play those things), the gameplay is beautiful. Its practically made into more Megaman-like style which is pretty challenging but also fair. Boss fights are tough but possible to get by. Really good game overall, so I recommend it.
megaman, but with anime girls and battle cats enemies. its a simple and fun lil game (with a pretty good soundtrack too)
This is actually a pretty solid platfomer that I'm surprised doesn't have Positive (50) reviews!
To be brief, this is a classic Megaman game with a different skin. Instead of a robot boy, you are an anime girl who is part of an Earth protection force known as Invasher Team. Instead of an angry scientist in a UFO, you fight a weird cat alien from outer space. Instead of robot masters, you fight other weird aliens conveniently color-coded so you know their elemental weakness. The plot boils down to 'these aliens are evil, go kick 'em off the planet.' The gameplay is extremely familiar to those who have played classic Megaman. Go right, kill anything in your way, jump across platforms, reach the boss room, kill the boss. There are eight elemental aliens to defeat, after which you challenge Veg (the weird alien, as the game calls him). There are three difficulties, and speaking as someone who only tried Easy and Medium, there are noticeable differences in both level layout and boss patterns. Easy Mode has the quirk from Megaman 10 where extra platforms are added to the level to make platforming easier. There are some differences from classic Megaman, however. You have two methods of attack; one is the usual Buster, the other is a melee attack with decent range. Instead of inst…
