Battle Cat vs Treacherous Mice is a simple 2D action platformer of extremely low quality. This really feels like someone mucked around with a game template for a couple of hours. I got this from Daily Indie Game so there's no expectation this was going to be gaming caviar. While this isn't a pure asset flip, it has the same general qualities. A funny thing to note is how all the positive reviews for this game are from accounts with free/no products or VAC bans. Probably compromised accounts or something. Gotta love those fake reviews. Anyway it's difficult to write too much about the game because it crashes on launch. Broken games don't get thumbs up. I have a dream that one day I'll play an indie game where they bothered testing it. Either way, don't buy broken games. Impossible to recommend.

In the current state the game is almost unplayable. It just doesn't feel good and I'm gonna explain that in a second. I can't recommend playing it at the moment, but I'm sure that with a little more time it could become a great experience. I stopped playing at the 3rd level and here is why: In the first level I am taught how to shoot, but not why to shoot. Until after leaving the game in the 3rd level and watching actual gameplay of this by the developer, I had no idea why I had to use the gun at all. Maybe either don't introduce the player to a mechanic at all (and just display all the controls in one corner of the screen or do a proper tutorial for all the mechanics (including levers, teleportation, jumping...). When I saw the controls for shooting, I stood up to get my controller. Once I plugged it in, the cat started to uncontrollably move forward. I later found out it was doing that every once in a while, independent from using a controller. So I just went with that and started playing. But soon I realized that the gameplay felt... off. There is some kind of random wind that is applied when jumping. Sometimes you can jump really far to the right, sometimes its just a hop. J…

Controls felt super slow and slippery, the meows get annoying If you hold a direction on arrow keys and WASD at the same time you can move faster btw.

This game offers responsive controls, an engaging soundtrack, and a gritty, dystopian world with uniquely designed levels. Took me 16 minutes to 100%. Modern day shovelware. 0/10 would play again.
