Becoming a King

I finally made it through to an ending in this game, it was highly disappointing in every way possible. tasks become a monotonous grind. your choices don't really matter unless you play a particular way to get the ending you desire and even then it won't be quite what you expect and disappointing. It was such a waste of time. I've played a few games now from this studio and the writing is pretty much always the same. Options limited and story long and drawn out and boring. Feels like AI did all the work. Would refund if I could.

This game has game breaking bugs that has not been fixed but have been known about for 7 months do not think much more information is required :p

I bought the game for $12. Becoming a King is a CRPG Visual Novel with long list of short comings that prevent me from recommending this game. I would like to start to by saying that I really like the concept of this game, the animation and anime art style are really good, and I really hope the company cleans up the bugs in the game. I think the game would be really great if it wasn't so buggy. The game has idler combat that is broken. The skills of the player character don't have any affect on the character's performance in combat. For example: Increasing the stamina skill doesn't increase the amount of damage the character delivers or the amount of hit points the character has. The combat itself is bugged. One of the abilities in combat claims to increase attack speed but the enemies rate of healing increases during at the same time so the affect is nullified. The dialogue choices in the game is broken. After events happen in the game the dialogue with the characters will go on as if the events have not occurred. There are not multiple dialogue paths for the different choices made through the story. The dialogue reads like it was translated with AI, it really needs a proofrea…

The game as a great loop once you figure out the crit path to gain levels and rep. The lack of a certified walkthrough is rough, but some players have made some really good ones to unlock a lot of the scenes. Its gonna go down as one of my favorites despite how choice driven some characters are to unlock. Worth the buy!!

Ridiculously more fun than I was expecting This game kind of annoyed me because it was fun as hell in my opinion. I honestly forgot I was playing a gooner game a few times. So I am recommending but also NOT recommending this game at the same time. To be completely honest I had planned on not recommending it because I am a gooner and this game for a brief period did not satisfy my gooner needs. The story is actually pretty freaking interesting and there are some turns and twists that genuinely caught me off-guard. It's basic level of playing honestly made it kind of enjoyable. The combat was actually fun, mind it also a little hard at some points and annoying as sin. This is the main reason I would recommend the game as it is fun as hell and I'd play this on my non-gooning profile if it wasn't classified as a gooner game still. Now for the goon-sauce.
