About Beef

Clock in and discover the dark secret behind one of the world’s favorite canned meat brand in Beef, a surreal horror experience like no other.It is your very first day at "Silver Quality" Factory. In your first day as an operator, your job is simple: ballance temperatures, cut and shred any lump of meat you find in the line of production, and to ensure every pack of sausage meets the legendary "Silver Quality" that made this brand grow to become to popular!But the Silver Quality Factory wasn't built on hard work alone. Between the gears and the meat, voices cry out from the vents. When the machinery shifts, you’ll find yourself hearing things, seeing things... And asking yourself if you really are alone.
 • Your first day in this job: Do your best! There's nothing wrong... Ignore those noises... Just do your best!
 • A Descent into Darkness: Can you solve the puzzles of a dark, dungeon-like environment where you might not be alone?
 • The Shadow Road: Survive a high-speed gauntlet of beasts illuminated by the flickering thunder.
 • A Legacy at Stake: Uncover the truth about Earl Goldfin and save the lost souls beyond the cold factory walls.
 • Like the good old times: "Beef" was developed with low poly graphics, mimicking the aestethic of classic console and PC games.

Be sure to check out "DaRevieweD", y'know THAT brutally honest yet beloved Steam curator that you haven't followed yet!?
PROS;
+ Gameplay really boils down to brief exploration segments where you examine objects of interest. However, a large and integral part of the experience amounts to a small variety of minigames which include your factory duties of slicing up... beef with a circular saw controlled via your mouse while avoiding the unwanted bits a la Tetris. Then troubleshooting said apparatus when it overheats with a console by lining up patterns in the right order and way. Before you're met with some otherworldly navigation whilst evading a nefarious being sensitive to noise! There's even a
rhythm game
of sorts for the final encounter. Quite an array of ingredients to be finished off within less than an hour and all for $3 bucks!? A real steal of a treat if ya ask me~ + The visuals are stellar and just a PS1-esque feast...! It's a hark back to that era of look where it's sort of low-poly but not quite? I've always been bad at words! There's even a clever little nod, wink, and finger gun …

Cute game, short but dealing with horrifying subject matter. A shame that there could be parallels in the real world. Reasonable price for a short experience. I'd say buy it if you like supporting indie devs. Hope to see more polished work from them in the future.

[Recieved a free copy from the developer. Thanks!] Pros - Gameplay. Sometimes another in that subgenre of "doing things in a small" room, like Iron Lung, The Zhukov Line, and that one from Unsorted Horror. It's not just that though, which I like, they did put some more effort into a variety of gameplay. I like the bit near the end. Reminds me of the end of the original Devil May Cry. - The PSX graphics look quite nice, especially near the end. - Decent enough music. Cons - Not good at being subtle. That's important for the buildup of tension. Oh, that's just a ghost. Oh, thats a monitor saying "help me help me help me". You gotta ease this stuff in a little slower, or more subtly. - I had an issue where when I hit Escape to go to pause the game, I wasn't able to move again. So I had to restart the game. No saving by the way. Might be a Proton/Linux thing, might not be. I did redo it and beat the game though. - I like how it switches up the gameplay, but it's never really all that complex. Move side to side to dodge things. First person walking sim. Turn dials. It can get a little repetitive sometimes. I respect the effort though. - Sometimes the text types a little too fast and t…

Nice short experience. Great for a first 3D project! Could use a little work on the text going WAY to fast for some of the scenes. A well put together game otherwise, and a delightfully dark story to boot. I hope you keep working on more projects like this one. :D
