About Berzerk Flashback

Welcome to Berzerk Flashback*, an anthology of pretty much all the Flash games we still have the source code for.

You can now play your favorite Berzerk time wasters from a decade ago, Berzerk Ball, Sands of the Coliseum, Frantic Frigates, Gunbot, you name it! All safe from the grasp of whoever is trying to take Flash games away from us.

We freed all the games from their microtransactions and ads, only pure, innocent games here, well, as innocent as games about war, gladiators, all around violence and eating animal proteins can be.

  • Mechanical commando
  • Hero's Arms
  • Swordless Ninja
  • Trap Master
  • Mechanical Commando 2
  • Homerun in Berzerk Land
  • The Breach
  • Gunbot
  • Frantic Frigates
  • Delivery Man
  • Rocket Santa
  • Nuclear Justice 2084
  • Sands of the Coliseum
  • Rocket Santa 2
  • Berzerk Ball 2
  • The Peacekeeper
  • BattleCry
  • Sky Quest

  • Also included is a bunch of sideprojects and unreleased lolities, like I dunno, the Just Shapes & Beats prototype and Frantic Frigates 2.

Hope these little time capsules of a simpler time bring you as much joy as they did back then!

*Get it... Flashback... because like... it's flash games... that we're bringing back... f l a s h b a c k

Berzerk Flashback, developed and published by Berzerk Studio, is best understood not as a single cohesive title but as a sprawling anthology of browser-era creativity. It gathers a large catalog of the studio’s Flash games into one place, preserving them in a playable format long after the decline of Flash itself. What you get isn’t a unified experience with a central mechanic or narrative, but rather a mosaic of small, self-contained ideas that reflect a very specific period in indie game development. The collection spans a wide range of genres and design styles. Within minutes, you might move from a physics-based launcher game to a side-scrolling shooter, then to a light management sim or a score-chasing arcade challenge. This constant variety is one of the compilation’s defining traits. It rarely lets you settle into a single rhythm for too long, which works in its favor because many of the included titles are built for short sessions. Each game introduces its mechanics quickly, delivers immediate feedback, and encourages repeated attempts through simple progression systems or score improvements. A recurring design thread across many of the titles is the use of incremental upg…

Awesome

Two of the games seem to be non-functional currently. BattleCry will not open at all, and Sands of the Coliseum works fine except for the fact it seems to be impossible to miss, which sucks a lot of the enjoyment out since just spamming power strikes is viable regardless of your dexterity. I have enjoyed the other games, but Sands of the Coliseum was the original reason I purchased this, and BattleCry also seemed very interesting.
